I guess I didn't read well enough. It is electric start, but you have to hook up an extension cord. The unit is fine, and works well. Just not what I wanted. Unfortunately when I purchased it, there was a winter storm across the Midwest. And parts of Texas.

Easy to assemble. Automatic Starter requires 120v Extension Cord to operate, not all Extension Cord Heads fit but not hard to find fit. Just waiting for the Snow to put through the real test.

Piece of crap. Auger does not turn and will not shoot out snow tried contact vendor and it is impossible to get ahold of anyone
