  • These are VERY high quality. I use them professionally...
Color: Black Size: 2 Outlet Pattern Name: Power Strip
I install home theater systems for a living. I purchase these units for cramped locations (such as custom TV cabinets or behind wall mounted TVs). These surge protectors are perfect for my needs: 1) Compact. A regular surge protector bar will not fit in any of my customers custom TV cabinets. I require a surge protector small enough to fit over an outlet without being bigger then the outlet itself. For example, these fit in the right side of a 2 gang, Combination Cable TV & Power outlet; without blocking the TV cable plug. 2) Quality. I only use high quality products in customer installations. These units exude quality both in specs and looks. 3) Protection. These surge protectors are small, but they have a surge suppression rating of 1410 Joules. That's pretty incredible for such a small unit; higher then most in-home surge protector bars. This means whatever is plugged into these (in my case LED TV's) will have a better chance of surviving then a lower rated surge bar. It's backed by a 10,000 Dollar "Ultimate Lifetime Insurance and Lifetime Product Warranty." 4) Noise Filtration. This is a feature found only higher quality surge protectors. This feature prevents appliances (blenders, refrigerators, fans) from degrading your TV picture and sound quality when in use. It also helps prevent lock-ups and data errors on PCs and other high end components. This is a MUST. 4) Heavy Duty. Yeah, these aren't breaking, ever. Every surface is solid metal, painted black. They weigh about 1 pound, which is lighter then I thought they would be. 5) Doesn't fall out of outlet. Despite their relative bulk and heavier weight, I thought these would just fall out with the slightest tug of an electrical cord. Not so. They fit solid into an outlet, and it's not going to fall out. It has a rubber boot on the back of the unit for extra leverage against the wall. 6) Easy. They plug in and work. No buttons. Plug in, your done. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and the price I paid. If you are looking for a small, affordable, QUALITY surge protector, I HIGHLY recommend these. I'm a very pleased, very impressed, and very satisfied customer. Thanks Tripp Lite. We appreciate quality products at fair prices. Please keep it up! Note: If you have the space, I recommend the following larger surge protectors: 6 outlet (3330 joule): TRIPP LITE AVBAR6 Isobar Metal RJ11 Coax 6 Outlet 6-Feet Cord A/V Surge Protector 10 outlet (3840 joule): Tripp Lite HT10DBS Home Theater Isobar Surge Protector 10 Outlet RJ11 RJ45 Coax [Please Vote!] I hope this review gives you some insight and help with your choice, and a little knowledge from an unbiased owner. • A Must Have
Color: White Size: 2 Outlet Pattern Name: Power Strip
I definitely would recommend this power strip surge protector. It works great and have already proven to have protected my equipment that I have plugged into it (no electrical damage), when I recently had a power surge that had damaged one of my plug-in light fixtures that was not plugged into any surge protector. ... show more

  • Great price for quality device.
Color: Black Size: 2 Outlet Pattern Name: Power Strip
The Tripp Lite direct plug Isobar two-outlet power-conditioner/surge suppressor is a great safety device for preserving delicate electronic devices from utility-power transients and surges, but it is not designed to protect against lightning strikes, power failures (black out/brown out), or minor voltage fluctuations inherent to utility power. It might be nice if these units blocked all current when a power surge was encountered. But that would also be a grave inconvenience, because there could be 1,000 surges in a single day. Utility power is rife with short-duration voltage spikes (thousandths of a second) that can cause data errors, momentary artifacts in audio and video, and cumulatively cause premature failure of electronic equipment. The Tripp Lite Isobar is designed to quickly clamp the voltage spikes to a much lower voltage, but not usually down to the normal line voltage of 110-120 volts. So, this device filters out destructive elements inherent in utility power. But it doesn't produce perfectly 'clean' power! Asking for the device to cut off all power at some abitrary surge level is not possible, because no one knows how much that is. There are too many variables involved. When the device must be removed from the socket, it must be pulled straight out. If it is tilted or twisted, it can break. It is also 'not' a lighting arrester. Nor is it designed to be used with extension cords or outlet strips. It's practical use is limited to protecting devices with delicate electronics from excessive fluctuation in utility power. Real protection begins with uninterruptable power supplies (UPS). But they must be dual-conversion type, or they offer inadequate protection. Tripp Lite makes UPSs too. I use the Isobar devices with printers, telephone charger bases, alarm clocks, laptop AC adapters, usb-chargers, and things like that. Expensive electronics are connected to UPS units. The last bit is, conditioners like the Isobar products offer no special protection against electrocution, like a GFCI does. Nor are the two device types compatible. I like the product a lot. But I also have realistic expectations. ... show more

  • Device to Secure to AC Receptacle No Longer Included.
Color: White Size: 2 Outlet Pattern Name: Power Strip
Bulky and appropriately industrial in appearance, this unit seems like be a well constructed, high quality product consistent with its lifetime warranty and device protection assurance. Buyers should be aware, however, that his surge protector no longer includes the mounting bracketshow in in the product description on Amazon and the Eaton/Tripp Lite web site. This no-longer-provided bracket secured the surge protector to AC receptacle. Accordingly, this product is not suitable for mounting in, for example, a ceiling mounted AC receptacle or other situation where it may become disconnected unless the installer finds a way to keep the surge protector from becoming disconnected or falling out of the AC socket. ... show more

  • Good unit if you don't need more then 2 plug ins and don't want a cord
Color: Black Size: 2 Outlet Pattern Name: Power Strip
I purchased this and also the 4 outlet version that has a cord with it. They are both nice units and worked (at least all the lights came on)out of the box. I am using this one on an elliptical machine and have the other hooked up to my treadmill. This 2 plug unit does stick out from the wall just about 2.5", but as it lacks a cord it actually has a lot of uses (and takes up far laess space) despite its sticking out so far. The 4 outlet unit I have for the treadmill has to sit on the floor due to the plug in. That isn't a problem where the treadmill is, but it wasn't the best solution for my elliptical, hence this 2 outlet version. If you want something that has protection it will have a little bulk to it. I don't think it looks bad once installed. It has a single plug in behind the upper outlet and a rubber bumper backing the lower one. It is designed to plug into the bottom of your two house outlets so you end up with a unprotected upper house outlet and then the two protected outlets from this unit below. You can however plug it into the top outlet if you so desire. When I say designed for the lower one, its just the rubber bumper fits better against the wall then the lower outlet and the locking mechinism is designed to use the outlet cover's center screw. The tripp lite locking piece screws into the home outlets center screw and then the tripp lite unit has a slot on top that slides into the metal bracket now protruding from the outlet. A second screw then goes through the bracket into the surge protector. Works well and is easier to install then it is to explain how it works. Overall seems to be a good choice and will hopefully protect the unit I have it hooked into which is the primary purpose I wanted it for. The electronics are pretty basic (but the unit itself spendy hence the reason for the surge protector) and I cannot comment on the line noise supression performance of this unit as that wasn't an issue I had that needed adressing. ... show more

  • Great Product!
Color: Black Size: 2 Outlet Pattern Name: Power Strip
Tripp Lite makes very good surge & filtering products and I've been using them for many years. Their "Isobar" series really hits the sweet spot because you can isolate plugged in devices from each other. Here is a tip: For some odd marketing reason, the manufacturers and sellers of surge protection device focus on selling you joules, and imply that higher joules means more protection for your plugged in device. This is only part of the story. Yes, high joules might get you longer life for the surge protector itself (if you live in an area with very high surge events). Equally important is the "let-through" voltage, also known as "clamping voltage." This number should be low, so at least 330V (also called Class 1), which is good. There are surge protectors available that get down to 180V let-though, but these are harder to find. If you have lots of electronics in your home, start with a "whole house" protector installed in the circuit breaker box. Then layer by protecting individual things like computers and TVs with power strip style protectors. ... show more

  • ★★★ Superior Surge Protector, But You'll Need to DIY Your Own Mounting Solution!!! ★★★ Superior Surge Protector, But You'll Need to DIY Your Own Mounting Solution!!!
Color: White Size: 2 Outlet Pattern Name: Power Strip
Product: Tripp Lite ISOBLOK2-0 2-Outlet Direct Plug-In Surge Protector The Good News First Let me be clear: the ISOBLOK2-0 is genuinely excellent surge protection hardware. After spending considerable time researching surge protector specifications across every major brand, here's what makes this unit stand out: Protection Specs: * 1,410 Joules energy absorption * 140V RMS / 330V VPR clamping voltage across ALL THREE protection modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) * 48kA surge current rating * <1 nanosecond response time * UL 1449 4th Edition Listed * All-metal construction (not cheap plastic) * Diagnostic LEDs for protection status, power, and line fault * $10,000 connected equipment insurance These aren't just marketing numbers - they actually matter. The clamping voltage (VPR) is the MOST important specification, more important than joules. It determines the maximum voltage that reaches your equipment during a surge. Lower is better, and 330V is the gold standard per UL 1449. Why I Bought Five of These I needed compact, high-quality surge protection for ceiling-mounted applications: garage door openers, a ceiling-mounted projector, and battery charging stations where space is tight. The product images on Amazon clearly show the ISOBLOK2-0 with a mounting bracket attached - a small metal bracket with screw holes that would allow wall or ceiling mounting independent of the outlet. Perfect, I thought. Premium protection with mounting versatility. I ordered five units. The Bad News: Mounting Brackets No Longer Exist When the units arrived, there were no mounting brackets. None. After digging through other Amazon reviews, I discovered that Tripp Lite has discontinued the mounting brackets entirely - they're no longer manufactured or available. Yet the product images on Amazon (and Tripp Lite's own website) STILL SHOW the bracket attached to the unit. As of January 2026, these misleading images remain live. This matters more than you might think. Without the bracket, this "direct plug-in" surge protector is really only practical for standard wall outlets where gravity isn't working directly against the connection. Ceiling outlets - like for garage door openers or projectors - are fighting gravity constantly, and the weight of the unit plus connected cables will inevitably work it loose. Look at the photo I attached to this review. That's my actual installation - the ISOBLOK2-0 plugged into a wall outlet with a smart plug and my Anker SOLIX battery charger connected. Notice the gap already forming where the unit is pulling away from the outlet plate. This is on a standard wall outlet, not even a ceiling mount. Without some kind of mounting solution, this thing is eventually going to work itself loose and fall. That's not acceptable for a premium surge protector. The product images show a capability that no longer exists. That's false advertising, plain and simple. I Researched Alternatives - There Really Aren't Any Here's where it gets truly frustrating. I spent hours researching every major surge protector brand trying to find an alternative with equivalent specs AND mounting capability. The uncomfortable truth? Tripp Lite's ISOBAR line is the only consumer brand that consistently delivers 330V clamping across ALL THREE protection modes (L-N, L-G, AND N-G). I checked Leviton (600-700V clamping - way too high), CyberPower (400V+ - fails the VPR requirement), Monoprice (330V on L-N only, 400V on the other modes), Panamax (close, but rack-mount form factors only for comparable specs). Everyone else cuts corners on L-G and N-G protection because most consumers don't know to check those specs. So if you want proper surge protection with 330V clamping across all modes, Tripp Lite is your only real option. Which makes it all the more frustrating that I now need to engineer a mounting solution that Tripp Lite used to provide but quietly discontinued. DIY Mounting Solutions (Since Tripp Lite Won't Help You) Since I'm committed to these units and still need to mount them properly, here are the solutions I've come up with. I'm sharing these for others stuck in the same frustrating situation. I'm a former aircraft electrical mechanic turned IT/Network Engineer, so I'm comfortable fabricating solutions - but I shouldn't HAVE to. Option 1: Stainless Steel Hose Clamp + L-Bracket (~$5) Use a hose clamp sized to fit the ISOBLOK2-0 body (~2.5" width) Attach clamp to a small L-bracket or angle bracket Screw bracket into ceiling joist or use toggle bolt The all-metal ISOBAR construction handles clamping pressure fine Pro: Secure, adjustable, removable, hardware store parts Option 2: Rubber-Lined P-Clamp / Cushioned Loop Clamp (~$3) Aircraft-style rubber-lined P-clamps work great here Size for ~1.5-2" diameter to grip the body Mount to ceiling framing or strut channel Pro: Clean professional look, vibration-isolated, won't mar the finish Option 3: Industrial Velcro + Backing Plate (~$8) Cut a small aluminum or steel plate as backing Apply 3M Dual Lock or industrial-strength Velcro Mount plate to ceiling/wall, Velcro to surge protector back Pro: Easy removal for inspection, no permanent modification Option 4: 3D Printed Bracket (~$2 in filament) Design a snap-fit cradle matching the unit dimensions Include screw mounting holes Print in PETG or ABS for heat resistance Pro: Can replicate the original bracket design exactly Option 5: Unistrut Mini Section (~$10) Short piece of 1-5/8" strut mounted to ceiling Use strut clamps or spring nuts to secure the unit Pro: Professional electrical installation appearance, infinitely adjustable None of these are hard if you're handy. But that's not the point. What Tripp Lite (Eaton) Should Do, immediately! 1. Update the product images immediately to remove the discontinued mounting bracket 2. Update the product description to clearly state "direct plug-in only, no mounting hardware included" 3. Offer the mounting bracket as a separate accessory for customers who need it 4. Or better yet: bring back the bracket - it's a stamped piece of metal, not rocket science ⭐⭐⭐ Bottom Line The ISOBLOK2-0 delivers genuinely excellent surge protection - 1,410 joules, 140V RMS (330V) clamping voltage across all three protection modes, all-metal construction, UL 1449 4th Edition certified. After extensive research, Tripp Lite's ISOBAR line is literally the only consumer brand that consistently delivers 330V clamping across L-N, L-G, AND N-G modes. The competition all cut corners somewhere. So if you want proper protection, you're buying Tripp Lite whether you like it or not. The 3-star rating isn't about the protection - that's flawless. It's about the fact that I now have to spend additional time and money fabricating my own mounting solution for what's supposed to be a premium product. The images clearly show a mounting bracket. The bracket doesn't exist anymore. I bought five of these units expecting a feature that Tripp Lite quietly discontinued without updating their marketing. For standard wall outlets: This is a 5-star product. Buy with confidence. For ceiling mounts or anywhere you need to secure it: You're looking at a DIY project. The protection is still best-in-class, but budget an extra trip to the hardware store and some of your weekend. You shouldn't have to, but here we are. Tripp Lite (Eaton): Update your images. Or bring back the bracket. Your customers deserve accurate product information. ... show more

  • Cost-Effective way to Protect an Expensive Investment.
Color: White Size: 2 Outlet Pattern Name: Power Strip
I used this for an AC Furnace to help protect my investment given how expensive replacement furnaces have become. It installed in about 10 seconds and works. The annual check-up guy wanted $500 for such a device. I saved 90% by plugging it in myself. My furnace is now 14 years old.
