After much research, I settled on the Trijicon HD night sights (orange front post) for my daily carry Glock 19. Bottom line up front: these are some of the best sights I have used on a handgun. They are not without their limitations, and not for everyone, but for me and my needs, they are just about perfect. What do you get in the box? A rear and front sight, all metal construction, of the same height. Rear sight is blacked out with 2 tritium lamps, front sight is a tritium lamp surrounded by orange or yellow phosphorescent paint. First and foremost, I am traditionally not a fan of tritium-filled night sights. I am, generally speaking, a fiber-optic kind of guy. Most of my training and time behind tritium pistol sights have shown me that their uses are limited. Generally, they only glow in very dark environments -- and in those environments, target identification is paramount, thus the use of a hand-held or pistol-mounted light -- thus, your night sights go away because the area is too bright. It's an ultimate catch 22. Fiber optic sights have always circumvented this problem. How did the Trijicon HDs change my mind on tritium? Ultimately, it boils down to a handful of reasons. 1) the tritium lamps here in the rear sight are very bright - enough so that they glow in-doors even in the late afternoon. Much brighter and easier to pick up than other tritium lamps I have seen. 2) The large orange dot on the front sight is highly visible in the day time, and phosphorescent enough that it shines/ reflects somewhat when using a light in total darkness. This is excellent, and helps you acquire a sight picture in many lighting conditions. Why these sights over a different name brand? A handful of very clever design decisions give these sights an edge over the competition and worth the high asking-price. The tritium rear sights all but disappear in day-time light - acting as blacked-out rear sights. This makes the sight picture less busy and acquiring the orange front post very fast under stress. The back of the rear sight is cross-hached, making it less likely that the rear sight will attract glare in the sunlight, and on a Glock, the Trijicon HD's rear-sight extends to the very back of the slide (unlike the stock sight), improving the sight radius slightly. Furthermore, the front-end of the rear sight is U-shaped with a slight hook, aiding in one-handed manipulation of the handgun such as racking the slide off of a belt buckle, etc. Lastly, the notch on the rear sight is notched in a U shape rather than a traditional squared shape. This aids in front-sight acquisition and fits the orange (or yellow, depending on model ordered) front sight perfectly. Why might these sights not be for you? The sights seems designed more toward speed than precision. The bright orange dot is very easy to keep track of during follow-up shots and rapid strings of fire. If you're looking for sights that will help you hit a silver dollar at 25 yards, you'll want to look elsewhere (much cheaper sights are available for that purpose). If you're looking for sights that will help you shave a few fractions of a second off your ability to draw and put 5 rounds into an 8-inch plate at 7 yards, these are what you've been looking for. Some room for improvement? First up, the tritium on the front and rear sights is all the same color- green. Although the front sight is surrounded by orange color, this can be hard to see in the dark. Having green rear and orange front tritium would be nice. Next, the paint on the front sight does glow when exposed to light... but not nearly long enough, and needs to be exposed to a lot of light before it starts giving off it's own light. If it could be "charged" with a flashlight and last a few hours, that would be nice. If it could glow for a few minutes after just being exposed to a street light at night, that would be even better. Last - the rear sight has some sharp points at the top of the notches. It has yet to interfere with my draw, poke my skin, or anything of the such after thousands of draws, but it's there, and it might be a snag hazard depending on your concealment garment. Over all - the sights changed my opinion on tritium sights. These are useful and visible in a wide variety of lighting conditions, indoors and outdoors, and have some very well-thought out design choices to help give them an edge. For a self-defense minded shooter, these are hard to beat.

These are great, obsolute best when it comes to three dot night sights. They are my go to option and have been for years. They have not failed me once and I have a few sets that have not faded, even ten years later they have a decent amount of glow. Five years old they still shine like new. Highly visible green dots that are durable and stand up to abuse with breaking on you like fiber optics. They are easy to install and always come a lil bit thick so you usually should take a file to the bottom of them very lightly until it goes in easier with resistance still but not too much. Much better than them being too lose to hold in the dovetail and relying on threadlocker or something of the sorts. Front post is great and the threads are nice. I have had other brands strip out on the front post but have never had that issue on these sights. They fit and look great like oem except a bit nicer refined tritium inserts. Great value for the price and I highly recommend them.

Just got these sights mounted on my new Gen 4 Glock 17 and I just gotta say, wow. These are great quality, especially considering Amazon's price. Don't plan on installing them yourself unless you have a sight pusher and the know-how. I had my buddy at the local gun shop install these for me for free. It's really not hard for a gunsmith with the right tools to install these on a Glock so they shouldn't charge very much for it. The white dots are nice and crisp during the day and transition to a nice green glow as the light gets dimmer. I think they are plenty bright and easy to aim in all levels of light. Keep in mind they are illuminated by glowing tritium gas and do not need to be charged by light. They definitely don't glow during the day like the TruGlo TFO's will do, but I submit you don't really need anything other than the white dots when it's daytime. The only thing some people may not care for is that the front post doesn't really fill up the entire notch even when I have it aimed at full arms length (and I am 6 feet tall.) I really don't find that to be a problem though as far as aiming. Meprolights might be just a hair wider in the front post, but it's not really a big deal. As far as reliability I think Trijicon is the way to go. I looked at a whole bunch but went with these especially because of Amazon's price. I heard from several different gunsmiths that on the Truglo TFOs the fiber optic tubes have been known to work themselves out of their mounts especially under heavy recoil. The TFOs still look pretty sweet on a Glock and I'm sure they are probably a good product too, but for now I'll trust my life with the Trijicon's because they are a more simplistic and efficient design in my opinion. Trijicon actually makes the tritium lamps which illuminate most every other brand of night sight with the exception of Meprolight as far as I know. There are a lot of bells and whistles as far as night sights, but these shoot just fine for me. Also they look pretty much exactly like the Glock's standard sights. The ones I received from Amazon where dated manufactured 2012 on the side, and the green tritium gas is guaranteed to glow for something like 12 years. The other colors don't glow as bright, or as long, so go with all green ones. From what I've heard Trijicon has good service and stands behind all their products not that I've ever had problems with any of them. Pros: Good sight picture in any light Plenty bright in dim conditions Rugged sight design Green lamps guaranteed to glow for 12 years Cons: Some people might think the front sight post is too narrow

If you are using a MOS (red dot) i suggest NOT buying these. These are stand alone VERY good, accurate night iron sights. I have these mounted on a Glock 19x and a S&W M&P 2.0 since neither gun mounts a red dot and they are super. I am planning to mount some on recently purchased H&K VP9 and SIG P320C. If you are using a red dot and you need a "backup" system then get a plain suppressor height sight. i suggest keeping the backup sights in the lower 1/3 of the red dot window with the red dot up and away from the sights. Most, including Trijicon, often will NOT co-witness. I had a RMR and Trijicon irons on a Glock 45 for my service weapon. They did NOT co-witness ! In my agency we need to take a 10 hour transition course, irons to MOS. One of the aiming methods used is by placing tape across the front of the MOS. You CAN see the dot but you can NOT see thru the optic. Using two eyes, you simply overlay the red dot on the threat as seen by the other eye. No point to a co-witness. If you are looking thru the MOS primarily, you are not using the MOS as you should. It is NOT the same a red dot on the rifle. I am presently using a Holosun 507 on the Glock 45 with a CH Precision plate and plain Trijicon night sights but suppressor height yet still low in the window. I do not need to see those irons unless the red dot goes out (and they are required by my agency for just such an occurrence.) If you are not a two eye shooter, MOS red dots on a pistol can be a struggle. I hope this helps a few concerning this new technology. I like it since I have old eyes (80 next year) and I only focus on the threat, like throwing rocks. One other thing, zero the red dot AND zero your irons. Bit of a back-ground relevance; I am a firearms instructor with a sheriff agency in Arizona and still run a slow 100 meter dash (age and wounds). Retired army officer, MACV (JFK School at Bragg, MATA course), 2 tours Viet Nam with no Tattoos. I do NOT have a "channel" as do so many as I am not of that caliber and i have never published anything. BA in anthropology/archeology and nearly an MS in South East Asian Cultures. Some of the stuff being taught was really out of date compared to my experience, so I stopped spending money in school and went back to South East Asia to teach English. I do get good natured (I think) rash from my younger deputies, detention and animal control but i have no issue with them. I just want them all safe and home at the end of the shift. They are all cool to work with. These are great sights as you can see the threat in the big "U" shaped rear sight and narrow front sight give very good accuracy. They allow this set of old eyes to hit a man torso steel at 100 meters routinely. As a Sgt once told me at Vietnamese scout school, "if you can see it CPT , you can hit it" and these sights help with that idea.

Fantastic product that cannot be beaten for the price. Easily some of the best sights you can buy. I had no problems with shipping, receiving the wrong product, or a used product (as some reviews indicate). Overall very satisfied with my purchase. Pros: -Bright tritium inserts, inside rubber anti-shock bushing with sapphire caps for excellent visibility in low-light and dark conditions. These puppies are BRIGHT, I have no problem at all seeing them in the dark. -Solid metal construction, feels like a durable, quality product. Leagues above stock sights or sights that feel like plastic. I feel these sights will last a long time even with a fair amount of abuse. -Intelligent design and execution. The rear sight widens towards the front allowing your eye to track the front blade through a greater horizontal angle. Serrations on the back of the rear sight all but eliminate glare and the rear sight extends to the back of the slide for longer sight picture. The front blade is narrow for pinpoint accuracy and the dayglow orange dot is easy for your eye to pick up and track. These sights are fast for instinctive shooting but also allow for a high level of accuracy when needed, a great balance between speed and accuracy overall. -Sturdy tight fit to the slide without the need for pins, punches, or tiny allen keys/hex wrench. The last set of sights I had used two .050 hex screws to fix the sight in place and they were a nightmare to remove or adjust. Cons: -These sights required hand-fitting for my Glock 19. This wasn't a problem for me but might be for you and does require some tools. If you already have a good file, a sight pusher, a 3/16ths narrow-neck socket with a flat face, some Loctite, and some Patience and knowhow you are good to go. Otherwise, be prepared to buy those tools or have your local gunsmith do some work for you. -No instructions. For better or worse, Trijicon does not hold your hand here. They expect that you already know how to fit your sights or that you will take your firearm and sights to someone who does for professional installation. It's not difficult to do, but you may have to watch a few videos online if you haven't done it before. (might be a con for some people)

The best irons for Glock. Yes, Ameriglo come close but the HD and HD XR are a step up. The rear sight is especially prominent and great for single handed racking. Yes they're expensive, but they are 100% reliable and you've been getting rusty ever since you started using a red dot. The only issue I've found is that the included front sight screw is a bit short and backs out over time (even with Loctite) so I use a slightly longer one.

Ok so I read most reviews on this item and decided to get one since most reviews was good it's realy look nice I order the orange front sight and it really work good for me at the day it's catching your eyes fast very helpful at the night it glowing amazing just 2 think need to know 1. The installation is little hard on the rear sight most recommend to buy the right tools it's going hard in the beginning but after few rolls it's run smooth so don't get panic I was a little and worried did I do something wrong but it's normal just keep rolling until it's get in 2 the rear sight is little sharp on the edges and can be easy ripe your shirts I hop after while it will be little round eadge but bottom line wrote it it's realy very good sights must have
