No assembly required. The wood is good quality, and the inter compartment sewing for each slat is good. The top of the thing is not sewn, but attached with heavy staples to the last wood slat. But it is easy to use and solved a tricky problem with an antique twin bed missing the old box spring. I just added some non slide strips so it would not slide off the side rails. Price per unit was incredibly good. Thank you. *Be sure to read the descriptions to be sure the size it's correct for your needs. I almost ordered Twin XL 39"x80", but upon measuring the bed, realized the regular 39"x75" was a better fit for the side rail length. ... show more

This bunkie board doesn't add too much weight to the bedframe, and is easy to install. My only issue with it has been that it shifts a little bit now and then. Overall a good quality and helpful item.

They were great and I should use them for more beds.

This worked out fine, but it was about 3/4 inch too narrow at one end, as if the boards were cut slightly shorter there. It kept falling through the frame there until I added some gorilla tape.

I have a slat bed we purchased in 1987. some slats broke and I thought i needed to make my own. I was extremely happy to find these on amazon. because my existing bed is a queen, i purchased the twin size and cut the length to the size we needed. it was relatively easy to cut, and the bed is more sturdy now then it was with the original slats. these slats are very sturdy and i highly recommend this if you have a slat bed with broken slats. another use for them would be in bed in a van. just need railings and put these slats inside the railings. ... show more

Do not buy this. I checked to make sure that the item was 39 inches, the width of a twin mattress. I didn't want the slats to slip out. I placed the "bunkie board" on the bed frame, put the mattress on it, sat down to test it and the bunkie board and mattress fell to the floor. In fact, the slats are NOT 39 inches. They are 37-38 inches long. Hope I can return ... show more

I needed something to go inbetween a hybrid mattress and a memory foam topper as they were both too soft for my liking. This slatboard is perfect for my needs, although because the mattress topper is so soft, I can feel the separation of the boards when you sit on it, but it's a small price to pay for overall comfort.
