We purchased two for our cats: a large adult male that likes to roam, and a 9-month-old kitten who is starting to explore. Our use case was to track the kitten in case he ever got lost, and to track the collar of our older cat, as he's lost so many collars it's not funny. Unfortunately Tractive was ineffective at both use cases. The GPS is too inaccurate, and reports "movement" even when stationary. Bluetooth radar does not function and is not helpful in any way. The "turn on a light" function simply turns on the slightest LED, not visible from more than 2 feet away. The "turn on a sound" function would be a good idea, but is entirely too quiet to be helpful. We returned one of the collars, and the other was lost outside within a week. Even with it being in a stable position somewhere on the ground near our house, the GPS showed it constantly "moving" as we tried to locate the collar. Huge waste of money ... show more

The tracker doesn’t show exact location just general area. You have to get really close for the Bluetooth to work. Not helpful when they are outside. The sound is so quiet you can barely hear it even when standing right next the animal. You have to pay $100 per year per collar I didn’t expect that. . Worst of all even though they claim the battery lasts 4 days it doesn’t. I dropped of my cats t the vet with. Full charge the battery was dead that evening ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Using this collar has allowed my housebound Maine Coon cat to safety room around in my yard. When he leaves his safety zone I’m notified and when I call his name he comes to me! Safe and sound.

This is well worth the investment for my family. We have 2 cats that go outside during the day and never without this collar. Thanks to the breakaway collar the youngest cat has gotten free when she snagged it (climbing over a fence), so there’s no choking issue. Its GPS takes a few moments to detect where the cat is accurately—but this is no issue at all. I mean, satellites in near earth orbit are signaled by my phone in my living room to figure out where my 10 lb cat is hiding. Im good with giving it the time it needs. I have used itags, but they werent precise enough for my needs—my daughter’s cat has explored too far twice before and didnt come home. Thanks to the Tractive, I found her. Not having to tell my daughter her cat is gone is 100% worth any cost with this tracker. ... show more
