I’ve had several routers over the years but this one was so far the easiest to set up. I used the app to do it and it connected to it right away. I use it as an access point and it is pretty powerful. It sits in my bedroom and I can walk outside and all over my back yard and I’m still connected at full signal.     • Do not buy if you plan to connect with a Netgear product

Do not buy if you are using a Netgear modem. I speak firsthand on this. Kind of good side, customer service is not AI, so you speak to an actual human. The bad side is trying to understand said human. So the modem was a Netgear Nighthawk. I started this project at 6 am, thinking it would be done in 30 minutes. This is a replacement of both the modem and router. Called my provider to get a signal to the modem (10 minutes). Added the TP router to the modem, and nothing. Called TP customer service. They must have a checklist that we went through. Nothing. Their final recommendation was to borrow a friend's computer to see if that worked (40 minutes on that call). I told them that was way to much of an ask. I informed them that I would return the product if someone with more knowledge did not return my call in 30 minutes. They called when I was on the phone with my internet provider. I called them again after contacting my provider and seeing if there was a reason on their end. Nope. Called TP again, and after about 20 minutes got the router to work, but it was marginal. Meaning when you scrolled on the web, it appeared to hesitate. So I did what I should have done from the outset, which was to buy a Netgear router as well, so that both systems could speak the same language electronically. Hopefully, this setup will work for many years to come. So starting at 6 am and giving up by 10 am, between the calls and waiting for return calls. ... show more
