I love the fact that the display is clear and easy to read. It's also easy to use, no difficulty whatsoever. The more I use it the better I like it. I work on cars for a living and this is a great scanner, code reader, reset tool for everyone.

Lifetime updates and live data for only $79 is a great deal I've been using this for about two weeks now It's nice to do quick checks and get some diagnostic when your having problems with your vehicle, i had 2 abs codes on my acura tsx and this scanner cleared them with ease the flashlight on the obd2 plug is great to use and comes in handy more than you think.its also good for people that do maintenance on there own car to two reset oil lights after service. i think this code reader is a great code reader if you are starting out or need one for a quick test to have knowledge about whats going on with your car so a mechanic doesn’t steal your money ... show more

TOPDON is one of the new guys on the block. These tools are Launch variants. In fact, when I first powered it up and went to the update menu on the tool it pointed to the Launch site. The printed materials have the correct URL. After updating the tool the update information changed to the correct TOPDON stuff. I have heard a lot of good things about TOPDON customer service on the professional level tooling. I got this consumer level tool just to see how it compared to similar tools kicking around my toolbox. In the picture is an Actron-OTC variant 3209N, TOPDON AL600, and a Launch Creader VIII. Both of the competitors are a few years old. All three tools can read global, ABS, and SRS(airbag). The TOPDON being Launch based is laid out and works about the same as the Creader. Both have free lifetime updates. The Creader was more expensive and provides OEM engine data PIDS, while the TOPDON and Actron only have global engine data PIDS. The Creader can do brake maintenance resets and the TOPDON does not, but the TOPDON does battery registration and the Creader does not. Both Launch based tools can do oil and SAS resets. The Actron cannot do any resets or services and does not include any useful free updates. It cost more than the TOPDON but less that the Creader. Pros: -Easy to use -Familiar Launch interface -Snappy performance compared to the Creader -Battery registration -Lifetime free updates -Hot keys for global codes, reset codes, and IM readiness Cons: -NO OEM engine data pids. -Some of the button labels in the software do not match the hardware. -The branding in the update function of that tool is wrong and still points to Launch site instead of the Topdon update site. This may already be fixed as a running change. I am an ASE L1,L3 master tech with 25 years exp. Our shop has 6 figures worth of scan tools from Snapon (overpriced for what you get IMHO), Autel, Launch, Autologic, Auto Enginuity, OTC, as well as OEM's. This review is just my honest opinion. Hopefully I will get my hands on some higher level TOPDON tooling I can review soon. Update 6/27/22 - I originally gave this unit 4 stars, however it has since become a hit in the shop because of how quickly it can clear code and check monitors.     • Easy to use, very useful.
Easy to use and a nice upgrade from basic reader, I got this because I had a check engine light and I get tired of going to the auto parts stores to have a code read. I was able to check my car and let me know what is the issue and with a simple google to the code found the fix. Overall I'm happy with this fairly large scanner and hope to make use all it's features. ... show more

Great scanner to buy and it not expensive like other scan tools. Scanner has evap system check which is good to use checking it without smoking it ,also the graphs are Great and scanner works with every every make and model checked a few cars with Air bags issues also fixed them and reset them IM Readiness gets right to the point and guides u to the issues that's not ready to get u thur the state board. And u can look codes up also with possible causes Great tool to have ... show more

    • SLow, does not autodetect vehicle but it does work.
I used it to scan airbag faults, it did work but the section that describes the code has no data on the code the scanner reads and describes, very strange. It also does not autodetect the vehicle, which I think is a basic function. Seems very slow as well and realtime data logging feature almost does not respond. In all, functionality is useable but not on a professional level. I guess you get what you pay for and it does allow the home mechanic to find codes. ... show more

I’ve used some different models of scanners and this is definitely my favorite so far. The ability to quickly scan to see specific error codes with the user-friendly display and operation that this scanner is able to provide is great! It is superior to other scanners that I used and the price point is a great deal for what this scanner is capable of even when compared to some of the high dollar scanners available for the same purpose.
