I purchased this window shade for my mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and was becoming paranoid, convinced that the neighbors were watching her. Recently, she had also been bothered by bright lights, especially in the kitchenette where she watches her favorite TV programs. I read the reviews about this window shade and thought it might be a good fit for my mother. While I can't personally attest to the ease of installation as I hired a handyman, he informed me that it was far easier to install than he expected, finishing in less than five minutes with just a few screws. I like the color and design of the window shade, which differs from most window shades. Its clever accordion-like design allows you to pull the shade upward, downward, or in both directions simultaneously, giving you the option to shade the top, middle, bottom, or entire window, unlike traditional window shades that are drawn down from the top. This innovative shade allows you to shade the bottom portion of the window while leaving the top portion bare, letting in direct sunlight. In the late afternoon, when the sun shines directly through the bottom portion of the window, I can cover that part with the window shade and leave the top open. The material is sturdy and well-engineered, with two small transparent plastic handles, one on the bottom and one on top, making it easy to lift and lower the shade without any tangled strings, which was a major issue for my mother. My mother is very satisfied with the window shade; it diffuses the light while still brightening up the room with natural sunlight and providing the privacy she desired from her imagined neighbors. Moreover, at dusk, when the sun was shining brightly at the bottom portion of the window, practically blinding my mother, we can now pull down the window shade to cover only the bottom 12-15 inches of the window, allowing the remaining natural light to come through. This enables my mother to watch her favorite TV programs without being blinded. Overall, this uniquely styled, sturdy, and cleverly designed window shade solves issues with bright light and offers privacy at the same time. It's a great deal.

I used to work for a window coverings company, and I was pretty impressed with the final result of this shade. The cordless option is really the way to go on any shade, but I like the ease of operation on this unit. A nice neutral color which is a brown-tan tone works well with the colors in my laundry room. Gripe, however, are the instructions for installation. As I've mentioned, I know a little bit about shades, so it wasn't as difficult for me--but was still difficult to understand all the steps. Keep this in mind and maybe have someone who is 'handyman" knowledgeable put it up?

We selected the light-filtering white option and it produces just the right amount of light to give a calming glow to the room. I am absolutely in love with the top-down feature because we like our privacy and enjoy natural light during the day. This shade gives us the versatility to adjust to exactly the amount of light we want throughout the day while still having privacy. The shade was installed easily enough in just a few minutes if you don't count the time it took to move our monstrosity sectional out of the way of the window. but seriously, once we got to the window it was just a matter of a few screws and we were finished. We mounted it to the window frame with the included screws and it feels secure and sturdy. Overall we are very pleased with the results.

This shade was super easy to install. Two brackets simply screwed into the top of the wooden window frame. The shade clipped into them easily. It was effortless. The shade comes with slide on handles to lift and lower the shade. These are a little tricky to put on, but not too bad. They are clear acrylic so they don’t show too much, and they stick out just enough to give you a little handle. That is all you need to operate this shade. The shade lifts smoothly, stays straight, and there was no difficulty or hassle getting it to fold up nice and snug. When down the light shines through the translucent material and provides soft light while maintaining privacy. If I want more light while keeping the bottom closed, the top of the shade can be lowered. That is such a nice feature. This shade is in a massage therapy room where I do want privacy and yet a soft light is welcome. It would be nice in a bath or bedroom. The shade seems to be helping to keep the room warmer on these colder winter days which is a real bonus. I like this so much I may get one for the other window in the room. I would say this is a high quality item that should last a long time. It functions properly and looks very nice. I do recommend this brand.
