This is my second Tonno Pro Hardfold I’ve had. Install was fairly quick but I had to remove a trim piece on the bed to stick on two small gap filling pads. It was easy but I didn’t know I had to do that until it was already installed and I had gotten to the bottom of the box. There was nothing in the main instructions mentioning this part so I had to mostly uninstall it to remove the trim piece. Then, the instructions aren’t very detailed for how to line up the whole cover so the weatherstripping is properly arranged. This one was a bit different than the one I had gotten on my Tundra which I wasn’t expecting. I had to fiddle with and Allen wrench and bolts and fasteners. Then, for the clamps at the end of the bed, the part that latches onto the bracket scrapes against the bracket hardware which I’m not a fan of. I understand it’s most cost affective to make a one-size-fits-all kit but I’d lose the brackets with all the fasteners and just have the clamp clamp right onto the bed rail system and include detailed specific color photos on how exactly to position the tonneau cover so the weatherstripping is effective. ... show more

    • Works wonderful in extreme situations and has a good price point
It is an affordable alternative to the ones that are almost $1k. I put it on my 2018 Toyota Tacoma with some help from a friend. Make sure you read the instructions carefully because on the Tacoma I had to slide brackets in place before using it. It is a bit tricky but not too difficult. Another thing to pay attention to is make sure the forward latches are secure. Specifically, the two closest to the cab need to be very tight and the handles in a position the will not allow cargo to move them. I installed them on a cool day and they seemed tight enough. However, when I loaded up and it got to be >90 degrees the latches loosened and I had shift the cargo to tighten them up a couple of times. Once this was done I had no problems. Lastly, the best part is the cover keeps out dust and rain if you install it precisely! Also, keep an eye on the stitching because it can break but a little super glue does the trick. I have had it for 6 months and exposed it to heat >100 degrees for days at time, driven long dusty roads, and in summer rains and I am delighted with it. ... show more

    • Instructions a little outdated for a 2018 Tacoma but i'm sure that will change soon.
Purchased this for my 2018 Toyota Tacoma Access cab truck. At first the directions were a little vague as to how to install on the truck. the pictures showed an illustration that didn't match the truck's bed or areas to clamp to. A quick call to Tonno Pro (yes, I got a human right off the bat...) said I would have to cut the bed liner to allow the clamps to attach. I told her that is not an option for a brand new truck. So as I was attempting to set up a return I noticed a bag of extruded aluminum slides with a piece of paper in the box. It turns out that these little slides actually fit into the utility rail of the truck and make a space for the clamps to go. Nowhere in the glossy instruction manual were these mentioned. So if you purchase one of these (nice quality by the way...) for your Tacoma, look for those little aluminum parts for the rail. I'll update the review as the cover settles in. ... show more

    • Directions were poorly written.
I had one of these covers on a 2015 Chevy Silverado and did not have any problem installing it. However, the directions to install it on my 2022 Tacoma were very confusing and did not offer a good explanation on how it should be installed. There were two extra attachment points for the Tacoma which are of a different type than the other four and the directions to not explain how to use them in conjunction with the others.     • Too many corners cut on the manufacturing process.
Nothing against the seller.. the product is cheaply made as far as the clamp support bar that goes across the cover underneath. IE... It bows down which takes away support to the clamping brackets..so I don't see this lasting very long. And the cover is not squared up.

So this does have a hard panel but the the cover is actually fabric so wasn't what I was expecting. Just don't think it would last in Az and not what I was looking for but still a nice cover
