It was relatively easy for one man to install. The instructions are pretty good - but like most things once you make all the mistakes and finally get it installed the next one would take about 1/3 the time. As it was it took about 45 minutes. It works well with my Ford tailgate and keeps almost all water (including car wash) out of the bed. You get a little bit- a few drops. No issue for me. It fits perfectly and has stood up to a few months of opening/closing. No complaints. It open and closed easily. If I get another truck this is exactly what I will get. This cover should be considered when buying a Tonneau cover for your truck. I wanted a Tonneau cover for my new F-150, having previously purchased a BAKFlip from Bakindustries for my son's F-150. I was again going to purchase a BAKFlip. However, my new F-150 had an automatic tailgate, and I didn't want to mess around raising the cover before closing the tailgate. Following some research, I opted for the Gator EFX Hard Tri-Fold Truck Bed Tonneau Cover, and it's an advantage for me because I could open and close the tailgate without lifting the bed cover. A bonus was that it was more cost-effective than the BAKflip. It took about an hr to fit, taking my time to ensure a good, snug fit. Looks fantastic, and the quality is great. Installation was straightforward, as the included instructions were perfect. The only area where the BAKFlip has this particular model beaten is that you can fold back all 3 panels; with the Gator EFX, the third panel is fixed. I don't intend to use the bed for tall large items, so this wasn't a major problem. The panel is very lightweight, making both opening and closing super easy for my wife, and during those occasions that I may want to transport larger items - removing the cover in its totality will be easy. The only area that I can't give feedback on yet is waterproofing. However, the supplied fixing strip and drain tubes shows consideration from Gator regarding this. Having ensured that daylight can't be seen during installation - I'm highly confident that this won't be an issue. I'll update you as and when. I’ve had the 8ft soft trifold!!! But then I bought a new 2025 F150 with the shorter bed and I bought the hard version! Gator is the best! Easy install, great quality and I was surprised how nice my trucked looked after the installation! I’d buy it again and recommend it!

Crossed my fingers that this would fit an 08' f150 with the optional 6.5 bed. Perfect flush fit. Only flaw is drivers side rail was a bit shorter and did not have drain outlet. Installed on my own fairly easily getting the first clip on and balancing rail was a little tricky without mechanics coordination but doable. ... show more

So far so good. Love the flush fit. Easy install, and very minimal water intrusion during forceful car wash. The drain channels and drain pipes are the key here. Haven't driven in the rain yet, but I imagine it would handle that just fine. Works great for my purposes of storing tools in the bed.

2022 f150 6.5 bed. This product doesn't fit my truck. The latches that are towards the cab of the truck have no place to latch onto. And at the tailgate there is a 1"+ sized gap on each corner that will let water into the bed. If you adjust the cover towards the back, then it will leak at the cab side.
