I recently endured a heavy overnight rainstorm and stayed completely dry and comfortable inside. Zero leaks, no condensation issues — just a cozy night above the ground. Interior comfort exceeded my expectations. The mattress is thick and supportive (way better than sleeping on the ground), and the ventilation is perfect thanks to multiple mesh windows that let in a refreshing breeze without the bugs. This was a large purchase to take a chance on from Amazon but I am happy to say this RTT is everything as advertised with just a few issues. I did a lot of research for a roof top tent and this one had all the bells and whistles we were looking for. The quality is there and the tent has been mounted and ready to go camping, see the pics. Here's a few issues we ran into that are in no way deal breakers. Don't worry all of the accessories are Inside the tent. You need to pop one side up to remove them before starting. After sliding the bolt brackets in the tent channels and lining them up, we realized the bolts were not long enough for our cross bars. We mounted this on a Leitner Rack so we had to remove the bolts, run to the hardware store to get 3" long bolts and start over. Otherwise the hardware they supply is adequate. We did find some metal shavings inside on the bed so make sure you vacuum or remove the mattress before using. There are no instructions on closing the tent, which can be tricky and takes some practice. Closing one end at a time feels awkward because you feel as if you're going to bend the mechanism. Meaning when you pull the strap down, the top does not come straight down to line up with the bottom. You have to wiggle the top down to match up with the bottom. This is also tricky to do if you don't have anything to hold on to and you're standing on a side step. Other than that installation is pretty straightforward and easy. Can't wait for our first trip. @UPDATE@ First trip is in the books and we are still satisfied. We were warm and toasty with the outside temp in the 40's and foggy. We had put moisture bags in all 4 corners and it was a good thing because I did find water inside when we first arrived and setup. This may have been due to one of the windows being slightly unzipped? All 4 moisture bags had soaked up their max and the they were hard. We did have a lot of rain leading up to the trip and I did run through the car wash so could've been my fault. Nothing was ruined and we had no real issues other than drying and airing things out a little. We did add another 2" foam pad and that did make it a lot harder to clamp down FYI. ... show more

    • My goods and bad about it
It’s easy to install on a truck rack definitely easy to set up. Just unclip and push up n it goes by itself. Pretty dark(blacked out) if you close it up even darker with the thermal blanket. The light is bright enough but not to bright so you don’t want to use it. It’s great in the wind been in 30/40mph wind. The awning will flap but that’s normal on any tent. But the tent structure didn’t budge at all. Plenty of room for two people. We sleep in it with our two year old still wasn’t to bad. Mat is pretty solid but I’m 260lbs I’m 6 foot and have room to spare unless I lay on tummy then it’s almost gone. My wife likes how the legs are covered so her really long hair doesn’t get caught. She said that. The ladder use shoes. Bear feet it hurts. Sharp edges So two things I would change. One is the side windows mess windows are in inside and the full windows are in outside so you have to undo the mess windows to close outside for say if sun is coming up. But the ends are not that way. But for air flow in we needed the sides open do to where we parked n that was a problem undoing the mesh to close the outside. 2nd is… it takes two people to close it no matter what. Start on one side normal truck side pull it down and tuck in the tent then you go to the back and pull down and the other has to tuck in tent while you hold it down. It will spring back up if ur not careful. So it’s just more time consuming and need two people I would say almost impossible for one person. If wasn’t for this I’d give it a 5 but I want to give a 3 bc that. But bc it’s built good and sturdiness I go back up to 4 ... show more

Five star for now. Slight shipping damage to latches. I'll message them and see if I can get some replacements. Streightend them with pliers. Build quality seems good. End windows are sealed up great! Main opening you can see light through the zippers and stitching. Got it mounted on a can am defender pro. Going out for five nights and I'll update if I get wet or not:) want to ad some more mount points. ... show more
