I didn't buy these, my wife did. They are all plastic and I had very low expectations. BUT, WOW. They are plastic, but look better than I expected. They charge during the day, and go on at night. The "flame" doesn't look like fire, but it is a great look and so much better than just a light. The amber color and "moving" light looks really nice. And best of all, they stay lit all night. If I get up early, they are still lit until the sun comes up. We have had them in the backyard for about a month now and I am really impressed. We might get another set to light up the side yard too ... show more

These look great at night! I have bought several sets over the years to add more around my porch. They hold up well to the elements and are easy to install. My personal opinion is they look more realistic than others.

I purchased 4 of these for around our pool 6 YEARS AGO. 6 years of on at dusk and going out around 2 or 3 in the morning. Just in the last week, 2 of them finally stopped working. I just ordered 4 more. I know there are other torches on Amazon that look similar at half the price but I am so impressed with the longevity of the 1st ones, they I'm sticking with TomCare. Didn’t read the height before ordering but turns out we love how they are shorter. We have a 6 foot fence and like that they come about half way up. Obviously the ones that are in the more sun last longer but they last 7-8 hours currently in the summer.
