The instructions was little hard to read and understand, but i was able to figure how to attach them and was super easy. I aeen some comments that the extension are smaller, but mines was not and was line up evenly and sturdy. I had to cover an 8 foot gap and the regular gate wasn’t enough. Bought two extenders to put on either side. It was easy to add onto the main gate and is very sturdy. You can’t even tell it’s a separate part from the main gate

Works awesome! The only thing we've noticed so far, after having it for a few months, is that it slides left to right since it's not straight across (bends out in a squared off u-shape). But we love the option to have the door swing closed on its own or make it stay open. I also love that you can take the whole thing off without removing the hardware. My boyfriend put it together pretty quickly because he's handy and he only has one or two struggles during the process. Overall, it seems to be well worth the money so far and much more convenient than all the other gates we've had before. ... show more

This extension works great with the North States Supergate Deluxe Decor Gate that I also purchased off of Amazon. I was able to purchase an open box item from the Amazon to save a bit of money. The normal price for just the extension piece seems a little high to me. The extension is easy to add to the gate - you just twist and pop off one of the end bars and then do the reverse to attach it. The gate is easy to configure in different angles and shapes to fit any opening. It attaches to the wall with brackets and a template guide is included to get the brackets installed in the right place. Once attached to the wall and the joints tightened between the gate sections to prevent movement in the gate, it is very sturdy. Overall, I think this gate looks better then many of the other pet and child gates available. I'd purchase this gate and extensions again should I have need for another one. ... show more

The small amount of assembly and installation are easy to complete. The gate is not sturdy once you add extensions to it. There is quite a bit of give when horizontal pressure it put on it.

I purchased four of these extensions to use with our Supergate Deluxe Decor gate to enable it to wrap around our fireplace hearth. I think the price per extension is a bit on the high side. Having said that, the gate overall is attractive and quite sturdy for how lightweight it is. The only reason I knocked off a star is that I wish there was some way to get a quantity discount for purchasing several of these (a 3-pack or 4-pack or something). The extensions match the original gate perfectly and attach very easily to it with no hardware required. Two important things to note (for measuring purposes): 1) These extensions do not attach to the outer pieces of your original gate; rather, they attach BETWEEN the central gate unit and one of the original end units. 2) These extensions are not the same width as the end units that come with the gate; they are about 15" wide, while the original end units are about 17" wide. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Needed a baby-proof stair gate to span two side-by-side staircases... one going up and one going down. Bought extra panels to extend it into a ‘D’ shape to give plenty of room to enter/exit away from the stairs. Followed fitting instructions and it worked perfectly. Very sturdy construction with nice feel for baby - no apparent sharp edges. Gate opens easily and closes on its own. I am an engineer, so pretty fussy about construction of things I buy... this product gives me total confidence. Just one note... the ivory color really is ivory, not white. This was a little unexpected, but actually blends better than pure white, so we were very pleased. Updated 5/16/18 - Gate still working perfectly. Someone asked a question about how to remove the bar to extend the gate. Added a video here to show that. ... show more

Working from home during pandemic has its challenges and plenty of them. Barking dogs roaming the house while my wife tries to teach school is just one of them. We built a gate/fence to span a wide owning that keeps the dogs away from the front door and stairs. This extension allowed us to span a larger distance than most of the gates/fences we found. She was able to teach school remotely upstairs without interruption and pizza delivery drivers no longer quake with fear as our tiny terrors defend the castle against all invaders. ... show more
