This is a huge step up from the round dehydrators. I've run several batches of fruit through this unit. The fruit dried quickly. About half way through, I turned the trays around (front to back) as the back does dry quicker. Top to bottom didn't seem to matter for me. The silicone mats are great as the food releases easily and are easy to clean. I had a problem with the right hand side buttons not being responsive, but the seller responded quickly and took care of that. I wish it would remember Fahrenheit instead of Celsius, but it's an easy one press of a button to change it after powering on. I would buy another one again if needed.

I was leery about ordering a non-big name brand dehydrator but I kept coming back to this one. I have been running it almost non-stop since getting it. I have no cons to report. Tried to make jerky and the time didn't coincide with the doneness of the meat. I used the suggested time/temp in booklet that came with it, but it wasn't right. So, I added time, but I think it will take some more figuring to get it right. Does the job, just need to figure out time/temp for better results. Quick shipping.

This is a great food dryer compared to the old-school type we had before searching out and finding this one. No more rotating shelves, as this one dries evenly and does the job quietly. I've now dried untold pounds of apples after getting a bumper crop this year. We are very very happy with this food dryer.

Single wall construction will get very hot in use. Seems dangerous and wastes energy. Instructions say be sure it sets on a heat resistant surface when in use. Not sure if kitchen counters qualify as heat resistant enough for this appliance. Didn't try to use it. Put back in original packaging for return.

Did two batches of peaches. First we followed the instructions. Then we tried several different temps. But regardless of our efforts to try everything, the only peaches that dried nicely were the back third. Everything else either turned black or didn’t dry or both. Which was very weird. We were so excited about the size and specs. In the end we returned it.
