I’m really impressed with this sandwich maker, especially for the price. It heats up quickly and makes perfectly crispy sandwiches with nicely sealed edges. The non-stick plates work well, and cleanup is super easy. I’ve used it to make grilled sandwiches with cheese, turkey, and egg, and everything comes out golden brown on the outside and melty on the inside. It’s simple to use and perfect for quick meals. The only thing to note is that it gets quite hot, so you need to watch the cooking time to avoid over-browning. Also, avoid overfilling to prevent leaking.     • Do You Like Paper Thin Sandwiches?

I've had this sandwich maker for a couple of weeks. Overall, for the price point, it's more than adequate. I've only made grilled cheese sandwiches with it, two at a time. I have buttered the cooking sides of the bread (Sara Lee Butter Bread), and have used two slices of cheese on each sandwich I've made. If you're careful to center the cheese on the bread, you will get no ooze, or only minor ooze, in one corner or the other. The heating plates clean up easily with just a paper towel, and any ooze you may get slides right off when the heating surfaces are cool. There's a green light that goes off after the heating cycle is done, but I've always had to leave my sandwiches in a bit longer for them to be nice and toasty. No problem with that for me, since it still only takes a few minutes to cook. When you push down on the lid for cooking, you have to exert some pressure. When you remove your sandwiches, they will be paper thin. This isn't suitable for a lot of people, but I'm not that picky. The sandwiches are scored down the middle by the cooking plates, but you'll still have to cut them with a knife after removing if you want individual halves. There is no on/off switch. Insert your sandwiches before plugging in, then unplug before sandwich removal. The amber light on top of the cooker will be illuminated when plugged in. The sandwich maker looks nice, and only takes up a small space on the countertop in my travel trailer. We will see how long it lasts, but if I get a year out of it, I feel like it has more than paid for itself. So far, I'm happy I bought it. It cooks a lot faster and more thoroughly than the toaster oven I was previously using, and takes up MUCH less counter space. ... show more

This is the second one I’ve gotten… my college daughter stole my other one :) I love the way it seals the bread around the sandwich. For example, if you do a grilled cheese it seals the cheese in the middle unless you really load it up!! Then it will oooze out around the sandwich and is still yummy

Pros: • Works well with smaller bread sizes • Easy to use and straightforward design • Heats up quickly for a fast meal Cons: • Standard/average bread slices are difficult to fit • Does not cook sandwiches evenly (one side may be softer) • Tends to squash the sandwich quite a bit, leaving it flat If you mostly use smaller bread or don’t mind a thinner sandwich, this could still work for you.
