It grilled a sandwich fairly well. The spring around the power cable to the top half pulls it down in the back, making it grill unevenly, but I think you can pull a bit more of the spring out of the case to relax it. The biggest drawback is that there is no power control at all. If it's plugged in, it's on, full power. Forget about temperature control. You'll need to get an outlet switch or unplug it when you're not using it. Shame the plates don't come out for cleaning. Overall, it's extremely rudimentary, but it gets the job done. ... show more

I got this because I was heating up the kitchen stove just for a couple chicken strips or to reheat pizza. The panini press goes beyond what I expected. Perfect grilled cheese sandwiches. Add bacon or ham. I put up to 2 eggs on it, fold precooked bacon and cheese into it and then put it on bread and press it. If u want a crisper bread I don't lock the press down right away. Just let it cook with its weight. Locking it down will make it cook faster but also thins the bread where the egg may seep out. It cooks chicken strips just as easily. Throw them on and have crispy strips in about 8 minutes. I'm enjoying it and looking forward to making more new meals. Great for single serving meals. So far, easy to clean and the non stick plates have been just that. For the price this is a no brainer. ... show more

I like a egg on my sandwich and it was easy to cook the egg first. Then put on my sandwich as I put it together. Its nice to have a hot sandwich. Since I can't stand long this can be fixed it the table. Clean up was easy also. The only problem is the cord is short. I had to get a extension cord.
