I bought this because it was a 6 lock set and I wanted it manufactured by Thule to fit my crossbars. (I could only get a set of 4 or 8 from a local store and I wanted two extra in case I added excessories in the future. They are easy to install and well made. (And more than one key!)

This is a well integrated method of securing your bikes and the racks. I would highly recommend getting a pack of 6, at the minimum. Use 4 to secure the bases for the racks, and the remaining 2 to secure the bike carriers. If you think you will be adding more bike carriers in the future, purchase a larger kit of lock cylinders to future proof yourself. ... show more

I paid a lot for my crossbars, I guess it’s worth the price to protect them. These locks were extremely easy to install. They appear to work just fine. I’m not so sure though if a seasoned thief still couldn’t get it if he wanted to. I guess only time will tell. These locks don’t come with the crossbars. I think for the price you pay for the crossbars the locks should’ve been included. You’ll read many other reviews that say the same thing. I bought the eight pack. It’s only a couple more bucks than a six pack. However I didn’t eat eight. The other four will go for the cargo basket I bought for the top of my jeep. It didn’t come with locks either. ... show more

We delayed purchasing the locks for our Thule roof rack (Wingbar Evo) until after our Thule roof box arrived. Afterwhich, it made sense for all 6 locks to use a single key. There was a part missing from the package which was necessary for installation, but the seller immediately sent out the part free of charge. Installation was easy. A good product for securing Thule crossbar feet to your car. However the install instructions are a bit cryptic - a little time spent on deciphering the design of the lock cores and how they can fit the Thule parts is necessary to accomplish installation. One you get that, and get them installed they work great. I feel the instructions on the box could be made more clear but be sure to look closely at the design elements of the core and the Thule part they go into so you can figure out how it all works. One important feature to understand is that when installed correctly the key does not turn inside the lock core but rather turns the entire lock core so as to lock and unlock when installed correctly. ALso note that to install the lock cores the key needs to be in the core. Best to watch the video on the etrailer web site for clear instructions, better than what is on the box. ... show more

It was very easy to match my Thule Rack Locks with my new Thule Roof Box. The lock cylinder in the Thule Box slid right out with the blank key that removed the current lock cylinders in the Thule Box. The new cylinder slid right in, in seconds.
