  • Worth the money!
What you pay compared to what you get is a great deal! Personally, I think the updates are also a great deal as seen below. Granted the scan tool will only use the basic OBDII if the subscription runs out, but keeping the subscription active is much cheaper than keeping the Autel MS608 active for $800. "Thinkdiag2 only supports 1-year full software function use and update, after 1-year, if you don't renew it, you can only use the basic OBDII full function. By subscribing to an annual membership, you gain access to the full system and function of all compatible car models during the validity of the subscription: 1-year membership need 99.95 dollars 2-year membership need 159.95 dollars 5-year membership need 339.95 dollars To subscribe to one car brand need 49.95 dollars/Year (after subscription, you can get full system functions and special functions of all compatible models under its brand)". The Thinkdiag2 gives me just as much data and bi-direction control as my Launch x431 and the shop's Autel's. Since I bought the Thinkdiag2 I have been using it more than the two scan tools I mentioned. It's more convenient to use by holding my phone in one hand than holding a big tablet. Yes, the Thinkdiag2 has a few issues that need to be resolved, but so do the Launch and Autel scan tools. They don't do everything and that's the reason why professional automotive technicians have more than one scan tool. So far the only problems I had with the Thinkdiag2 it did not work well with a 2002 Ford Thunderbird, it did not communicate well with it and on the Fords Power Balance test it will stop working after about 5 seconds on CANBus systems, you have to exit the program and start over. Non-CANBus system's Power Balance works fine. I use the APP on a cheap Samsung AO1 TracFone, the only issue I have is a lack of space, the APP and ThinkDiag2 work well with it. The APP may not work with a tablet, it's not made to, which is stated in the description of the product. The product is well made and comes with a nice sturdy case. The cable and scanner are separate, that way if the cable gets damaged you can replace the cable and not the scanner. I have uploaded photos of the unit and several screenshots from the scan tool. ... show more

  • Back yard guy here.
I bought this to try it out. I gotta say if you need a scanner this is the one to buy. Working on an 04 Chevy truck and all I can say is wow. This little thing is amazing. I’ve always owned the smaller scanners and this thing has blown me away. The things this can do are incredible. I wish now I had bought the pro version. I have really enjoyed learning about the functionality of this thing and I’m happy to report that none of my 3 vehicles have codes any longer. I would love to try out the pro version to learn the functionality more in depth but this is by far my favorite tool I’ve purchased this far. Thank you ... show more

  • Got it at great Xmas deal.
It might be older 2022 model but it has been updated by firmware. Best car code scanner l have used. Excellent for someone that is not mechanic. Has lots of helpful documents and videos to do brake bleeds, tire sensors, etc.

  • It is a very good tool with maintenance functions that cover only a few models
A very nice and good quality tool that is very simple to use. I am a bit disappointed because the maintenance functions work only on very few models.

  • Sounds good? Don't waste your time.
I know…it sounds amazing right? DO NOT BUY. The concept is great but this product is nowhere near what was advertised. Claims to work with IOS and Android. In my experience it doesn’t work with either. It will run a diagnostic report (with a bunch of cheesy sound effects, computerized voices and slot machine visuals)…but as soon as you try to do something bidirectional (sending commands back to the car) you will get error messages. When you call tech support, they barely speak English…and are just an answering service for the company. When you use the “onboard diagnostic feedback” support system in the app, no one replies (even after they tell you that you have to use that route). When you send an email…prepare yourself to get caught up in a chain of emails (mine is over 20 emails long) with excuse after excuse and another “try doing this instead”, “send screen shot”, “send screen recording”, “send us a video”, “try a different IOS device”, “try an Android device instead”, “try deleting and reinstalling app”, “try creating a new account”, “send us a report, no…not that report…okay, wait, that was the right report…please resend that report”…the list goes on and on. And guess what…NONE OF IT WORKED. Communication was difficult because… #1. Tech support was on the other side of the world and would answer your emails while you were sleeping. No real time support…which means one communication per day, delaying repairs. #2. All instructions online, in app and via texts and email are in very broken English. There are misspelled words throughout the app. Terms used do not match what the rest of the world call different car parts. #3. The programing in the app is horrible. The mapping of the menus are not user friendly. Good luck finding what you need to get done. And the mapping and descriptions are different from IOS to Android. #4. Error messages on screen in app do not make any sense. They reference report titles that don’t have anything to do with functions being ran. As an example, when trying to run a report for DPF mass accumulation, I found the total under “77 telepone, no fault code 120.00L/g”. Not even half of the “special functions” worked on my vehicles. I tried them on a Honda, Toyota, Mercedes and Audi. I tried them on IOS and Android devices. I tried communicating with tech support multiple times. Now I’m just trying to get you to spend your hard earned money somewhere else that won’t waste your time and effort. ... show more

  • Saved the Day!
I used this scanner to clear some learned values in my Subaru. It saved me thousands of dollars! The dealer couldn’t figure out what this thing was able to do.

  • Awesome Device
Amazing device and app. Been using it for a month so far, and it’s helped tremendously on the past few cars I’ve been working on. App is very quick and user friendly. Love that it’s directly on my phone so I could quickly screenshot any codes and later research on my own time. Does many upscale features that I needed such as resetting the learning values, checking for all ecu module codes, has an instant search button next to each code which makes it quick and simple for googling the code on demand as well. For anybody that works on cars and needs a professional shop scan tool definitely check it out. Haven’t found anything in this price range that does what this does 🔥 ... show more
