Good scanner.
The scanner itself has an excellent size and form factor and feels well-made. It is not too big to be difficult to use inside a car or tote about the garage, but it is big enough to make live data, module lists, and diagnostic information easy to read. We really love the fitting carrying bag and the protective corners. It was easy to set up. Instead of having a cable running through the car while you are working, the Bluetooth VCI connects to the vehicle's diagnostic port and communicates wirelessly with the tablet. During my testing, I was able to access numerous modules instead of just basic engine codes, and vehicle recognition and scanning functioned as intended. If you have used other scanners in this class, the software will appear fairly familiar. Functions like AutoVIN, system scans, code reading and clearing, live data, maintenance functions, and deeper module diagnostics are all easily accessible, and navigation is reasonably simple. The promised lifetime software updates are, in my opinion, one of the main benefits. I do not make money every day using a scan tool; I am a hobbyist and do-it-yourself mechanic. For something I mostly use to maintain my own cars, I find it difficult to justify paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars in monthly subscription payments. This scanner gains a great deal of long-term utility if the lifetime-update policy is maintained as promised. An enormous operational benefit is the cordless Bluetooth connection. You may wander around the bay or comfortably sit on a bench while reading live parameters by plugging the dongle into the OBD2 connection beneath the dash, closing the door, and avoiding the tethered cable. The entire diagnostic procedure is made much easier and faster by the link's stability during prolonged monitoring or active tests. This scanner worked flawlessly with every car it was connected to. It is responsive, quick, and easy to get diagnostic fault codes, see real-time data streams, and perform standard system resets on a variety of models. Because of the user-friendly interface, it is simple to dive right into modules and obtain relevant diagnostic data without experiencing slow loading times. Designed to endure regular shop use, dirty fingers, and active garage conditions, the device seems well-made, sturdy, and comfortable in the hand. Data graphs and issue codes are easily readable at a glance thanks to the clear and sharp screen visibility. It makes daily troubleshooting simple by packing significant diagnostic power into a small, portable package. It was quite simple to set up, and I had no problems. The settings are arranged so that it is rather simple to discover what you are searching for, and the Bluetooth VCI connected swiftly. It provides you with a good amount of coverage without requiring a lot of different tools because it is compatible with OBDII automobiles and covers a very broad range of makes and models. The ability to do more than just read and understand codes is what I enjoy the most. The system scans and reset features make diagnosing issues much quicker than going through everything by hand, and the bidirectional controls allow you to actually command different components for testing. Because you are not forced to sit directly next to the OBD connector, the wireless connection is also incredibly practical. The lifetime free Wi-Fi updates offer long-term value, and the support for CAN FD and DoIP is a good feature for working with newer cars. It is a convenient way to diagnose problems, carry out maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical systems without requiring several equipment because it has so many features. ... show more

A Very Capable Scanner With Lifetime Updates That Actually Add Value
I use OBDII scanners quite a bit and own several different models, so I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to see from this one. Lately I've been using more MUCAR and THINKCAR equipment, and I've been impressed enough with their scanners that I was genuinely interested in trying this one. So far, I like it a lot. The scanner itself feels well made and has a very good size and form factor. It is large enough that live data, module lists, and diagnostic information are easy to read, but it isn't so large that it becomes awkward to carry around the garage or use inside a vehicle. The protective corners and included fitted carrying case are also appreciated. Setup was straightforward. The Bluetooth VCI plugs into the vehicle's diagnostic port and communicates wirelessly with the tablet, which is much nicer than having a cable running across the interior while you're working. Vehicle identification and scanning worked properly during my testing, and I was able to access multiple modules rather than being limited to basic engine codes. The software will look very familiar if you've used other scanners in this class. Navigation is fairly intuitive, and functions such as AutoVIN, system scans, code reading and clearing, live data, maintenance functions, and deeper module diagnostics are all easy to find. For me, one of the biggest advantages is the advertised lifetime software updates. I'm a hobbyist and home mechanic, not someone earning money with a scan tool every day. I have a hard time justifying hundreds or even thousands of dollars in recurring subscription fees for something I use primarily to maintain my own vehicles. If the lifetime-update policy continues as advertised, it adds a lot of long-term value to this scanner. Performance has also been right in line with other scanners I own in this price class. Scans have worked properly, communication has been stable, and I haven't run into anything during my testing that would make me hesitate to use it regularly. My only complaint is a minor one. There was a small sticker attached directly to the screen when mine arrived, and removing it left quite a bit of adhesive residue. I eventually got it cleaned off, but putting a stubborn adhesive sticker directly on the display of a diagnostic tablet is not a great packaging decision. At the cost at the time of my review, I think this represents very good value for a serious DIY mechanic or enthusiast who wants considerably more capability than a basic code reader without stepping into the price range of high-end professional shop equipment. Pros: Lifetime software updates add substantial long-term value Full tablet-style scanner with wireless Bluetooth VCI Good build quality and comfortable size Broad diagnostic capability beyond basic code reading Cons: Sticker on the screen left annoying adhesive residue Advanced functions can vary depending on vehicle make and model ... show more

This Scan Tool is Amazing
The THINKCAR 673BT Bidirectional Scan Tool, OBD2 Scanner 28+ Reset Services is as described. This OBD2 Scanner is a life changer. This is my first scanner that is as nice as this one and does as many things as this one does and it is intuitive and fairly easy to use. This scan tool comes with an easy help button where you can get help from them on whatever you are trying to do. This scan tool is well built and durable. The screen is clear and protected by a robust housing. The OBD2 plug is magnetically connected to the back of the scanner hand tool so that it doesn't get lost. The OBD2 plug plugs into your OBD2 port easily. The Bluetooth connection between the OBD2 plug and the handheld scan tool is reliable. The handheld tool reminds you to remove your OBD2 plug so that you don't accidentally leave it in a vehicle. This Scan Tool is a great value. ... show more

A Capable Scanner for More Involved Diagnostics
I have several basic OBD2 readers, but there is a point where simply reading and clearing codes stops being enough. The THINKCAR 673BT is aimed at more involved troubleshooting, and the bidirectional capability is the feature that makes it particularly useful to me. Being able to access supported systems and perform active testing can help narrow down a problem instead of relying entirely on fault codes. The range of reset functions also makes the scanner useful for maintenance tasks rather than only pulling it out when a warning light appears. There is a learning curve. A scanner with this many functions naturally has more menus to work through, and I would not expect every listed function to apply to every make, model, and year. I always verify vehicle specific support before assuming a particular procedure is available. This is better suited to an experienced DIY mechanic or someone doing frequent vehicle diagnostics than a person who only wants to check an occasional engine light. If you will use the deeper functions, it provides considerably more room to troubleshoot than a basic reader. ... show more

Reliable multi-vehicle diagnostics, fast wireless workflow, and solid shop versatility
Vehicle Compatibility & Diagnostic Performance This scanner handled every vehicle it was hooked up to without missing a beat. Pulling diagnostic trouble codes, viewing live data streams, and running common system resets is smooth, fast, and responsive across various makes and models. The interface is intuitive to navigate, making it easy to jump straight into modules and get actionable diagnostic data without sluggish loading delays. Bluetooth OBD2 Convenience The wireless Bluetooth connection is a massive operational plus. Skipping the tethered cable means you can plug the dongle into the OBD2 port under the dash, close the door, and move around the bay or sit comfortably on a bench while reading live parameters. The link stays stable without dropping out during extended monitoring or active tests, adding tremendous ease and speed to the entire diagnostic workflow. Build Quality & Everyday Utility The unit feels well-constructed, durable, and comfortable in hand, designed to withstand routine shop use, greasy fingers, and active garage environments. Screen visibility is sharp and clear, making data graphs and trouble codes easy to read at a glance. It packs serious diagnostic capability into a clean, portable footprint that makes everyday troubleshooting straightforward. Verdict Dependable multi-vehicle coverage, seamless wireless convenience, and a hassle-free interface make this an excellent diagnostic tool for any DIY garage or working shop. A well-earned 5 stars. ... show more

Awesome scanner for the price
This scanner is perfect for getting into diag work. It has plenty of bidirectional controls and even has lifetime software updates. The software is easy to use. The scanner comes with a bluetooth dongle, so you can move around and aren't tied to the driver's seat. It hooks up to the car very fast and has all kinds of reports. You can then email them to yourself or the customer. I really wish the scanner had a kick stand. This is my only gripe with this tool. There's many times where I have the scanner on my roll cart and I have to find something to lean it against while I work. This scanner is an excellent value. It's a powerful tool at a bargain price. It's definitely enough for DIY work, and useable for professional work. There's no high end options like topography or oscilloscopes or anything of that sort, but this isn't a $1500 scanner either. It does well for the asking price. ... show more

Thinkcar quality
This Thinkcar 673BT is the perfect upgrade scanner from one that only reads and clears codes. It can access the ECU to activate all sorts of components in the vehicle. It can also do service resets of oil, ABS, BMS, etc. I can display live data in graph form to help you isolate and troubleshoot issue. It can do probably 95% of the tasks that a home mechanic or auto enthusiast would need. There are two other really nice features of this scanner. The first is the wireless ODBII dongle that communicates over bluetooth. Because you don't have to use a cable you can carry the scanner around and under the car while you monitor live data or listen for components to get activated. The other thing is that this includes free lifetime updates. Many other brands include only a year or two max of free updates. Some of those will cost you as much as a new scanner after a few years. ... show more

Powerful Diagnostic Tool With Excellent Features
This THINKCAR 673BT is much more advanced than a basic code reader. I really like that it provides all-system diagnostics along with bidirectional control, so it can be used for much more than simply reading and clearing check-engine codes. The 28+ reset and maintenance functions also make it useful for someone who works on multiple vehicles or likes handling more of their own automotive maintenance. The 7-inch screen is a great size and makes the menus and diagnostic information much easier to read than on the small handheld scanners. I also appreciate the wireless connection because you don't have to stay right next to the OBD2 port while running tests. CAN FD and DoIP support and compatibility with 96+ brands give it a lot of versatility. Another major plus is the lifetime free Wi-Fi updates. With diagnostic tools, ongoing software costs can add up quickly, so having updates included adds considerable value. Overall, this feels much closer to a professional diagnostic scanner than an inexpensive OBD2 reader. It has an impressive combination of bidirectional testing, full-system scanning, maintenance functions, wireless operation, and broad vehicle coverage. ... show more
