This camera is awesome for the money. Nice, high resolution photos, accurate measurements, and absolutely no issues with the app. I did have to remove the case from my phone, though. I had bought a short extension cable in anticipation of this, but the camera would not work with the cable. Probably a cable quality issue, though. I just ordered some small extenders that come with other brands of these cameras (the one included is actually USB-C to Apple). No shady app behavior. Worked right off the bat. Resolution is amazing. If I can find a U-shapped USB adapter, this will be the perfect tool for me.

Received the thermal imager today, downloaded the app and immediately put it to use. Found a high resistance hot 110v receptacle within a few minutes! The imager probably just helped save my house. Very easy to use.

The app for the camera isn’t supported in America. There is a work around that is mentioned in another comment which is the only way I could get the app downloaded. It seems to be very accurate and connects very easily. The case it comes in is robust and is snug. I haven’t noticed it draining the phone battery.

Don’t let the other reviewers mislead you. This does indeed work with USB C iPhones. However, set up is a little complicated since the THG Start app isn’t available in the US. I got around this by creating a new Apple ID in an EU country, and downloading the app, then switching back. Worked great. The app it automatically prompts you to download ISN’T the right one. It won’t work. As far as I can tell accuracy is within 1-2 F. Not great for measuring body heat probably, but perfectly fine for electronics. Can’t beat the price. Paid $90 for it. Image quality is about as advertised. Not amazing, but does the job.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought this because it was on SALE they cross out $199.00 and on Sale at $99.00 which I thought it was a great deal! Also the specs were great compared to other for the price and I had IOS and it’s said that it’s on the description that IOS is coming soon and it came with the lighting adapter from type c to lighting.. So I thought cool why not just used my old phone till the iOS app to come.. So I finally got all my equipment and everything to start my cell phones repair business and I came from long way to coming along till there’s still no iOS app for it!!!!! I bought it march 31st 2025 and then I just went to this item to return it back since it doesnt fit my needs.. Then I find out I can’t return it!!!! Because they close it on May 2nd of 2025 which I never even used it yet and I wonder why they only give you short period time to return it but by the time you notice that the iOS app isn’t coming then be to late to return it ……… ANOTHER THING soon the sale was over the original price was $120.00 which another bull crap because it was never $199.00 before.

Did just what I needed it to. Found an extra hot exhaust rocker on a kohler ch25s v twin. Only one the rocker is showing too hot and turned blue. Could hold my hand on the other cylinder/heads valve cover after mowing but the other one I could never keep my hand on. Decided to get a thermal camera and sure enough that rocker visually shows up waaay hotter than the other 3...Bright as the Sun. Now chasing down what's going on. Neither exhaust valve was blue until after I rebuilt the engine 😭

This is an amazing deal. I think the poor reviewers were expecting the same functionality as a $20k device. This device is perfect for my needs and it still hooks you up with some good features. For example, when you take a picture, it's not just a photo. You can tap on the image and place individual measurements long after the image was grabbed. I needed this to troubleshoot HVAC issues, but it's turning out to be very useful for a lot of other things I was not expecting (networking issue, rack temp, PC heatsink issues, and more).

**NOTICE** Currently This device ONLY works with iPhones in EUROPE with access to the European App Store. You could create a European Apple ID to get the app, but it’s a huge pain (since you need a phone number that is not already attached to another Apple ID, also a IP-phone or Google Voice number will not work to authenticate a new Apple ID). The “THG Smart” app is currently not available in the US App Store, which appears to be the only application that actually works with this device. I tried on an iPhone 16 pro-max, as well as a 12 pro-max (using the lightning adapter it comes with). When you first plug the camera into your iPhone (non-EU), it directs you to install an application. This app does not work, and even tells you the device is not compatible when you install it. There is also a Goyojo app, this app is pretty much identical, but also does not work. There are a handful of other “clone” of these apps on the App Store, but none of them work. Anyway, I did try the device on an Android phone and it does seem to work as advertised otherwise. I also did create a European Apple ID and it worked great on the iPhone 16 pro max as well. I hope they will try and get a fixed or working app accepted onto the US App Store, but I wouldn’t purchase this if you are in the US until you can confirm they have done so.
