Adopted as an infant, art quilter Lisbeth James has no clue about the family waiting for her. Her maternal grandmother has died, and Lisbeth, having inherited the family home, is traveling to Texas to claim her inheritance. There, she finds long-lost family; a man who makes her heart flutter, a feeling she has not known since the passing of her ex-fiancé; and a hidden treasure—a stunning wedding dress—that inspires her to make a double wedding ring quilt. Yet beneath the newfound joy, trouble simmers. She discovers a stalker and hidden pieces of her past—and suddenly senses foul play in her ex-fiancé’s seemingly accidental death. • Loved this book and couldn't put it down!
This is a wonderful story with a little bit of everything. Excellent character development, suspense, budding love, a dream inheritance, mouth watering visions of food, humorous descriptions of quirky family members and perfect detail of a creative quilter, made this a story I absolutely could not put down. I loved every minute of it and truly hope the author writes a sequel to this sweet story, and I think it would make an excellent movie! I highly recommend The Wedding Dress Quilt by Jeffree Wyn Itrich. ... show more

  • A good read for anyone and especially those who love a good tale of Texas with colorful characters.
It was easy to visualize the countryside, the characters, the houses, and the towns of Texas and smell the home cooking! The challenges of the main character, Lisbeth/Savannah are easily recognized by any woman who has loved, lost, or yearned. This book would be ideal for a group as it would promote conversation about many subjects that the author knows well, not just families and food, but quilting, love of animals, riding, and appreciation of nature. The mystery is an added bonus, which keeps you guessing. ... show more

  • A great read!
Enjoyed reading this very much. It was hard to put it down once I got started. It's a great read with a bit of everything; love, family, mystery, culture, and gastronomy. Have your tissue box handy!

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this book!
A very well written tale of Texas and some of the special folks who live here. Living in the heart of Texas myself, I was happy to find so much I recognized in this mystery story that also includes some sweet romance. I would love to read more about these characters and what happened next!

  • Weddings and quilts.
This story is wonderful. As an adoptee in California, she had a love of quilting. The death of her birth grandmother brought her a new life in Texas. A reconnection to that family and discovery of her late fiancé best friend wasn't as she thought it was, made for interesting plot lines.

  • Very enjoyable cozy mystery
This was an interesting quick read, with well developed and interesting characters. Would love a sequel or a series! The "Texas" slang and food reflects the author's knowledge of her home and roots.
