  • Clean cozy mystery set in a small town
A nice cozy mystery . Max moves to a small town to start over and everyone in town starts wondering about him and gossiping begins. When Max goes missing and his store is trashed, Molly and her friends get involved in figuring out what happened to him. The gossip helps them piece things together and solve the mystery. Interesting characters and great descriptions. ... show more

  • Pandemonium at the Pet Store
Tessa Aura has done another excellent job keeping you interested in the story so that you can not put it down until you have finished reading the book. There are enough twist and turns for Molly, Lila and Molly's chihuahua Mitz to look for clues regarding Max's disappearance. They run into lots of dead ends while they are looking for Max but that just make them want to find him more. I think anyone who enjoys a good clean mystery will enjoy this story and I can't wait to start the next book in the series. ... show more

  • Intriguing mystery, small town sleuths
Great cozy mystery that gets you hooked on the characters. Little dog companion makes it great for helping to solve the mysterious problems. Would have liked the dog to be more involved although he does sniff out clues. After finishing the book, it leaves you wanting the next book.

  • Pleasant, short read
This was a pleasant, short read of a new (to me) author. The story was a classic take on small town mystery. I enjoyed the time spent in the town and the various characters. There were some continuity issues so the ending was more of a snap of fingers after the build up, but I would read the next book of the series. There is a prequel book, which I haven’t read, and that may have been helpful for character development. There is an assumption of knowledge when the three main characters are introduced that we already know them and their history. That knowledge, however, would only enhance this story, but it doesn’t take away from reading as a stand-alone story. I struggled with the passage of time throughout the story (has it been days, weeks or months, and it goes back and forth), and there were holes for continuity throughout. The first 4 chapters read differently than the rest of the book. Once I hit chapter 5, it smoothed out, hit a stride and read better. Even with that, I enjoyed reading this. ... show more

  • follow me to a new place
Tessa Aura takes you on a fun adventure as Molly, Lila with the adorable Mitz lead the way. Hold on and enjoy the ride as they try to locate Max the new owner of a pet store. The major different between his and the other pet store is all the secret deliveries going on. Why would someone want to kidnap Max? Can Molly and Lila figure things out before it too late, or someone else gets kidnap. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. ... show more

  • Good female lead character
Overall a good story, lots of twists and red herrings. Characters develop well. One complaint is the switching of Mitz's gender. Otherwise, a good, quick and fun read.

  • A Book Doesn't Necessarily Need a Murder to Be a Good Mystery!
I enjoyed Pandemonium at the Pet Store! I think the fact that no one got killed showed off the author's chops more than if she had tossed one in just because it was expected. I thought the character development progressed naturally and who doesn't love Mitz? If I had one critique it was that I found it a little cold that no one missed Molly and Lila until they got up and there was no breakfast! But did they call the police? No, they went out to eat. Also, when Max disappeared, who was feeding and taking care of the pets in the store? He was gone for days! I would have thought the animal rights guy would have been all over that, but no. Still, this was a good mystery, better than a lot I've read lately. I received this book as a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion. I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a good mystery and may not be all that bloodthirsty. ... show more
