Overall a good steering wheel lock. It is easy to install when leaving the vehicle. Easier than others I have used. It is padded well so your steering wheel is not scratched or the dash. When put in the locked position it will beep. It will fully arm in 15 seconds allow you to exit the vehicle and lock it. I wanted to test the lock while on the steering wheel. I moved it back and forth. The alarm went off in 15 seconds. It is quite loud to be honest. Certainly will send the intruder on his/her way. It is a good looking lock but I would prefer it bright yellow so would be thieves see it easier and decide to move on. ... show more

This wheel lock is very sturdy and strong. However, when you place it off the steering wheel, you have to place it in an area where it won't roll around. I made the mistake by placing it in the floor board and the inner plates came together and it started to beep when I was driving down the road. Unfortunately, I could pull over to open the plates again and place in another location, but other than this- your car will be safe. Has a built-in alarm, it is meant more for scaring off thieves. It would seem to be effective in preventing the casual thief. A determined crook can get past most theft deterrent devices. You just want to make it inconvenient enough so that they will pick a different car.

The product doesn’t fit my Subaru forrester which was a let down. The alarm however worked so I guess that was a plus since it will not stay on.

Easy to install and take off and on. The alarm does work, but it's not deafening by any means, but it may draw a little attention. If properly installed, I think it would be a deterrent.
