This does fit my Dewalt DW735 Planer. My original one cracked after some abuse. I might drill the hole for the pop-up locking stud a tad larger because mine will not pop through the hole. The problem is that this fits on so tight that it doesn't seat quite far enough for the stud to pop through the hole. On the other hand though, it is on there so tight that you would really have to work to pull it back off. This will work for my needs. ... show more

Couldn't get this to fit - thought maybe I don't have the strength to force it on but looks like I am not the only one with that issue. Nice to see that others have had success with modifications so I will give those a try. Not an easy out-of-the box thing to use though.

    • Way to tight; like putting on ultra skinny jeans. But easily fixed.
Like the other reviews, this was too tight. So tight I was afraid of breaking the exhaust port on the planer. 1. the hole for the lock nipple is too tight. Fix: a few strokes with a small round file to enlarge the hole so the lock nipple fits in easier. 2. The inside diameter that slides onto the planer port is way to tight (I needed 2 hands to rotate it). I rubbed some wax on it as a test. That helped, but still too tight. Fix: I very lightly sanded it with 600 grit sandpaper. Better. Sanded again. Problem fixed. I'd give it a better rating if it didn't require modifications.     • Looks like the original, but a shade too small to fit the DW735
I wanted to like this, as it appears identical to the Dewalt OEM equivalent part, and materials used and manufacturing appear of quality. However the problem is when you try to install it on the planer, it is a few hundredths of an inch too small and so it can only be installed by using an extreme amount of force, which ends up bending the keystone tab on the adapter. I have both this part and its name brand counterpart. The throat on this part that joints to the planer is amount one mm too small, or just under one mm. I had to lube the inside of the throat to get it on the planer, and even then a lot of force was needed. My OEM fitting fits with little force and slides on snugly but smoothly. The hole for the detent pin is on the small side as well. The retention notch is located correctly, but due to the tightness of the fit, it is very hard to engage it without bending the plastic. The rest of the shape is ok, and it will mate with a large and also 2-1/2 vac hose without any issue. ... show more

    • 1:1 replacement but not quite
First the good. This part is essentially a 1:1 replacement for the adapter that comes on the Dewalt DW735/735X planer. I took the original part off, and this worked. If yours is broken, this is a viable option. That said, it did not fit as nicely as the original. I had to do quite a bit of wiggling and pushing to get it on properly. The plastic used seems different. I'm not sure if that would be a good thing or bad thing longer term. My overall assessment is that with the official Dewalt part's price being only slightly higher, I'd get that one before getting this again. ... show more
