When I bought my 2010 town and country it only came with 1 key fob. After a few months my fob would randomly decide to work. After opening it up I found the little metal discs on the buttons came off. I was able to get it working again using scotch tape to hold the discs to the circuit board. This lasted a couple years with an issue every once in awhile I then tried buying the case and button replacements with mixed results. Then in the last week the fob would only start the car. I had to use the hidden key to unlock, really fun to do in the rain. At this point I tried soldering the gold pads the discs touch, electronics parts cleaner, taping the discs, and everything I read about on the forums with no success. I feared I would have to pay around $300 to get a fob from the dealer, then I stumbled upon Simple Key in a YouTube video. I figured it was worth a shot. Within minutes I had a working fob again!!!! Now that I have the programmer I can make some spares, I think the programmer can do up to 8 total keys. If your fob is having issues and only have 1 working key this product is a must. Even if you have 2 working fobs already this product will make the process really easy. I highly recommend! ... show more

The directions are confusing and overly complicated. I even made cheat notes because I was worried about the limited time allowed to complete the process for each key. I didn't need to be so stressed as it turns out. It's simple, though the directions are not. Be sure you understand each step, then complete each step and it is simple. I ordered a set of 2 keys for under $30 and this package came with 1. So I made 3 keys in about 5 minutes. I think it's best you do the same. This will keep the process fresh and fluid so you don't waste money on a goof up. Besides, it's still cheaper to make 3 this way, than to get 1 made by the dealer. You will still need to visit a locksmith to cut the hard key as backup in case of a dead battery. Excellent, cheap and worth it for sure. ... show more

I was skeptical about this purchase, however given the alternative I decided to go with it. I used my $320 professionally done key to program this one. It was fairly simple. All the buttons work well. It also has a good range. It looks just like the original key. It loses points for the durability as the key fob fell and now it has a little space down the side. The problem I found was that the instructions do not match what is in the box. It references looking for lights to confirm the action, but there are no lights! I simply assumed it was OK. It is a bit tedious to go through the instruction manual and find the correct code sequence to use. It took me two tries however I got it. The manufacturer should rewrite the manual to match the product. For the physical key inside, I went to the hardware store and had the key cut for less than $10. ... show more

    • I have 2 working fobs again!!!
Both of my factory fobs were wearing out. One almost never opened the doors; the other would work if I opened the sliding door, but usually not just the unlock button. I went to the dealer. Their price for each fob was $191 plus $75 to program them. That's nearly $500!!! I called a locksmith, they wanted $125 to program fobs and I had to buy them somewhere online. The catch is that you have to pay the programming even if the fobs are defective! Plus, if they go bad (and what do you expect from a 2/$25 fob?) you have to replace them and pay programming again. I saw the Simple Key device in another Amazon review for a key fob (I was reading reviews to buy ones that didn't break right away.) I chatted with the guy from Tom's Key and found out that the item was guaranteed or I'd get my money back. So, I purchased it. For my car there was no activation for the fob, and the programming was simple - I just had to follow the simple instructions. The fob that came with it programmed easily and I programmed a second one that I had from Amazon. Now I'm back to 2 working fobs!!! Plus, if one goes bad, I can reprogram another without paying $75-125 again! A good deal for me!!! ... show more

Just received my key programmer with all the items out of place in the box with a used programmer with the tape already peeled off. when installing it beeps to read error bc its been used already. Good qc guys

I purchased this for a 2016 Dodge Caravan. I read the directions and watched a youtube video on installation. It was fast and easy. I programmed the key it came with plus one other. I have a 7 button remote. All buttons worked however I did notice 1 thing that was different than the original key. Both new keys would remote start the car but when I stuck the key in it turned off and I had to start the car as normal. With my original key I just have to turn it to run and I am good to go. Not really a big deal to restart the car if using the new spare keys. Way less expensive than the prices I got from a dealership and locksmith. I would recommend it. ... show more

Worked perfectly. Simple to use. I made 3 key fobs, in just a few minutes, and I am not so tech savvy old lady. I now just have to go to the hardware store to have the door keys cut This was for a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. The only catch is that you do have to have one working key to start with

I was a little apprehensive to purchase this product. But to my delight it worked exactly the way they said it would 100%. I would recommend this if one of your original remote fobs is broken or damaged and you don't want to pay dealer prices. IT WORKS GREAT!
