I recently got this turtle habitat starter kit and I’m really happy with it! It came with everything I needed to set up a comfortable home for my new turtle perfect for beginners like me. The 20-gallon tank is a good size for a young turtle and looks great. It’s sturdy and easy to clean. The included water filter does a decent job of keeping the water clean, though I might upgrade later as my turtle grows. The decorative pieces and basking rock were a nice touch they made the habitat look natural and gave my turtle some fun spots to explore and climb on. It also came with turtle food, water conditioner, and even both lamps one for heat and one for UVB, which is so important for their health. I appreciated that everything was included in one kit so I didn’t have to guess what I needed to buy separately. Overall, this is an excellent all-in-one setup for anyone just getting started. My little rescue red eared slider LOVES her new home. It comes with everything you need. I did add more river rock to her tank and a small heater. She takes advantage of the bridge and likes to hide in the grass. It took her a couple of days to find her way around. She is still very small. I'm sure this tank will accommodate her needs for several years. The tank is very heavy. Make sure you place it is a good spot before filling it. Wash the rocks well before placing in the tank. The one draw back is the way the lights sit on the lid. When I have more time I plan to invest on buying different stands to hold the lights. Puddin, enjoys one half of a small shredded carrot once in a while. I also spoil her a bit and give her dried shrimp and fresh baby kale. The lid does prevent over feeding. lol I've seen reviews about bulbs burning our quickly. I haven't had this problem. I would definitely suggest shutting the lights off by their switches and not simply unplugging them. My Puddin has learned to bask. Both lights are important to keep her healthy. I wish I had purchased this product soon. It is a very heavy delivery. I needed help to bring it in. The box comes extra filters and a waterfall filtration system. Enjoy. ... show more

did not buy this for an aquatic pet, instead for my little leopard gecko!!! its PERFECT!!! spinach is loving his new home sososo much, and there is SO much space, was super easy to put together, I did not use any of the aquatic stuff but you genuinely get your moneys worth, im keeping it around just in case though. not 33 inches like the item description says (only saying this because I was worried it wouldn't fit on my shelf, it did.), but its still huge so what's the worry. I also did not use the lights it came with, but am keeping them as spare so if I have trouble with those I will come back to edit my review. the last photo attached is a size comparison of this one and a starter terrarium I got at petco! ... show more

Would have given 5 stars, but there's a few reasons why I didn't. The locks on the lid were poorly made and wobbly, and the entire lid has to be removed for feedings. A piece of the big one fell off into my tank, which I had to find in the rocks, and get out. I got a screw of the same size but with a bigger head and it worked better. I would recommend getting a stand for the lights, it's safer, and easier. I bought a different lid that has a small hatch opening, which can be opened for feedings, etc. so I don't have to remove the lid every time. This Reptofilter is really cool looking, and our turtles love basking on it, however it wasn't keeping the water clear at all, and our tank is only half full... don't know how they say it works up to 55gal... yeah right!! I added the Whisper filter from our previous 10gal tank, to the other side of the tank, and it's good now. I also had to add a turtle ramp/dock next to the rock filter because our turtles were not able to climb onto it without one, as the max water level for the filter is too low for them to reach the top. They are 1yr old RES turtles, so maybe as they get a little bigger they'll be able to get up there without the ramp, but for now it's fine how we've got it set up, and they're all happy. You'll also have to purchase a water heater, but Amazon has some pretty good ones, for a low price. ... show more

I am extremely pleased with my purchase! This starter set is perfect for my two pink-bellied side-neck hatchling turtles. The setup looks amazing, and the filter is a real showstopper with its gorgeous rock design and waterfall feature. I did encounter a problem with one of the light domes, as the light immediately went out and blew a replacement bulb as well. However, after contacting the manufacturer (as directed by Amazon), their customer service was beyond helpful and overnighted a brand-new dome. Their support was exceptional, and I couldn't be more pleased. Overall, a great buy and highly recommended!!!! ... show more
