Got it to replace the other heater. For my fish tank. The other heater wouldn’t suction to the tank. I got it for the size it was smaller & didn’t take up as much room as the other one did. I liked that it also came with little plastic fake bushes to add a little color for the tank as well.

It works but the temperature is off. It’s not the accurate temperature you set it on. It actually is a few degrees higher than want you set it on. I keep it because I do like it

I love the twist top and moveable red piece in there. It's nice and sleek, not bulky like other heaters. I have a 10 gallon tank and within minutes of putting it in, the light came on and warmed up the tank. I love the adjustable suction cups too. And for that price, blows the other heater out of the water. I will update if any issues arise.

Updated review: I had surgery and was unable to return the item for a couple of weeks, so I just left them plugged, in the fish tanks, until I could get to it. Suddenly, I saw the lights on both were on, and the water was warm (very warm, as a matter of fact). So I adjusted the temperature on each and they now work as a charm. Have NO IDEA why it took about 2 weeks for them to start working, but it happened and I'm happy. Not returning anymore. From 1 to 3 starts because they didn't work immediately... Which doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Original review: Have a 2.5 gallon and a 1 gallon fish tanks, so I got 2 of the 25W ones that are recommended to a max of 7 gallons. At first I read afraid I was going to cook my fish, so I started on a lower temp. I've had the heaters in the tanks for almost 5 days now, but water temp has not increased, not even 1 degree!!! Even after I increased both to the max setting on day 2... Still nothing.

I ordered two of these....one because one of my pre-sets wasn't heating a 15g tank enough and one because that near-disaster made me realize that I need a backup now that I have breeding tanks. These are pretty much self-explanatory and work as expected. I will never order presets again and these are easy enough to set and suction well. I am pleased.

After looking for hours on amazon, I came to the conclusion there is no perfect heater. I saw many reviews on even high rated heaters about fish fry’s and temperatures going crazy. I got this heater two weeks ago; the heater worked perfectly fine up until two days ago. I have a thermometer to monitor the temperature and at 11:30 at night I noticed a change in my fishes behavior as she was extra energized (too much, in fact). PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FISHES BEHAVIOR!! If you are new to buying a fish, in cold water fish are sleepy, in 76-80 degrees water Fahrenheit they should be normal, and in anything above they can be extra energized. I set the heater to 76 degrees F., and bought the 25W One for my 3 gallon tank. It has always stayed around 78-80 degrees, which is fine. I noticed that it was 85 degrees!! I then had to stay up until 1:30 monitoring that my fish was okay; luckily she is still alive. It should not have malfunctioned; and it is not like I’ve had this heater for years. The suction on it is fine in my opinion and can be slippery but you pay for what you get, and it works. I set the temperature lower to around 74 degrees and its staying at a good temperature of around 78-80 which I like, but it should not be so far from what it’s set to. If you choose to buy this, watch your temperatures and I suggest buying an alarm if the temperature gets too hot. There’s alarms with thermometers on amazon for 11$ USD. Otherwise, the thermometer still works but as it malfunctioned once I’ve set up an alarm and several thermometers around it, and I do check the temperature regularly. If you choose to buy this, take my advise with lots of thermometers and maybe consider investing in an alarm! If it malfunctions, set it lower, and it should be the temperature requested. My betta is still happy and healthy.
