    • Great idea, let down by a couple of minor issues.
The actual product, in design, is perfect. It will solve the daily messy cable when I unplug my Prius Prime. However, a couple of minor issues when combined led to a little disappointment: The screws that came with it were low quality and the heads stripped on a couple trying to lightly screw into a pre-drilled hole. Once I switched them out for my own better-quality screws this was resolved. Not a huge issue, but the expense of including three higher-quality screws would have made a difference - Not everyone has access to enough screws to be able to get passed this, which would mean a trip to the local hardware store. The other issue, which I found a little more bothering, is that the charger doesn't lock into the holder. All the plastic is in place and certainly looks like it should lock, I am using the stock charging cable (not an aftermarket one, which shouldn't make a difference anyway) and my worry is that if someone walks by and knocks the handle or cable, it might fall out and eventually break the charger handle. At the moment it sits pretty snug even without locking, but for how long? The issue above might simply be a manufacturing fault in my particular unit, so others will likely work as designed, but I will need to keep an eye on it. Replacing it will be interesting, it fits perfectly against the wall and holds really solidly, that part is very well made. There is honestly no need for the screws to hold the front cover on though, once it is snapped into place, it is not coming off without a lot of force. I tried to remove it, so I could get a better look at the locking mechanism, but it was clearly designed to stay in place. I didn't want to use a screwdriver and pry the front back off, but it would take that if you needed to relocate this. If the screws were a little better, and if the lock worked on mine, this was a clear 5* product, but they left me feeling it needed some improvement. ... show more

I love how well this holder protects my charger from the elements when its not plugged into the car. The only reason I had to take away a star was because the hardware that came with it is poor. You definitely need your own if you want it to last and be secure wherever you choose to mount it,.

I installed this inside our garage. It fits the charger for our 2019 Volvo XC-90 PHEV great. I did not use the included screws and anchors but used some 75-lb rated ones. The included screws and anchors did not seem all that sturdy, and there were no instructions included on what size hole should be drilled for them. It is not hard to imagine this getting yanked on when pulling the charger out, hence wanted to install stronger anchors. Since I was planning on installing this indoors, the all-weather rating wasn't a factor for me. However, after inspecting its construction, I don't think I would trust installing this outdoors. The back plate and face plate snap on pretty securely, but there isn't a rubber seal or anything preventing water from seeping between the seams. Not to mention it would be easy for water to blow in from where the charger is inserted. If there had been better installation hardware included, this would have been 5 stars. ... show more

I wanted something to get my EV charging cable off the ground outside, so I got one of these and attached it to a 2x4 temporarily. The housing itself if a durable piece of plastic. It's not exactly weatherproof but it's a start. The only downside is the mounting screws that came with it are very weak and all three of them sheared in half while attempting to drive them into the wood. When I swapped out the screws for some spares in my garage, installation went smoothly. L1/L2 chargers fit with this product. An additional weather proof enclosure may be advised for outside installations. ... show more

    • didn't work for me
first of all, the provided hardware isn't very heavy-duty. i was hesitant to install it until I could obtain stronger screws and wall anchors. the main reason for my hesitation is that i'm installing it on an exterior wall. if it were in my garage, i wouldn't have been as worried about it. my charger fits properly, but it does not lock into the holder, despite the holder having been designed for this purpose. as a result, it slides out. that's why I'm giving this product 3 stars. it didn't work for me, and this could be due to the need for a brand new charger that hasn't been taken in and out of the vehicle a thousand times, potentially wearing down the tab that locks it into place. alternatively, it could be related to the design of my particular vehicle's charger compared to someone else's. i have a car that rhymes with ree-us (22) ... show more

I keep my charger plugged inside my garage, but the cord/plug stays outside in the elements. It has a silicone cover to keep water out, but we would often forget to put that back on.
