At nearly $90 for a waterproof TPU Sheet, I started researching for an affordable product ( affordable relevant to your budget) So Glad I came across this PUREgrace Twin Mattress Protector, I have it over a twin size 6 Inch IKEA Foam Mattress and it stays in place, no crinkling sound, and the bed feels so comfy, it is so soft. We use organic cotton sheets over the mattress protector. I will be making another purchase for my other child's bed Twin bed. On a side note I have found that switching the kid's entire bedding to non toxic, organic bedding is quiet expensive up front but their breathing has improved. My daughters both used to wake up sneezing and one had a script for breathing treatments, now I rarely notice them having breathing difficulties. UPDATE AS OF JUNE 2018: I still love this mattress protector, I have just purchased another - I have been hoping for the price to fluctuate (lower) However the price has remained consistent on Amazon. I have washed my mattress protector in my front loader washing machine on cold temperature and let them air dry out on the clothes line. I highly recommend purchasing this item, the price is steep compared to all the other garbage on amazon - However this item is justified in its price. This mattress pad is in a class of its own, it is so soft, no smell out of the bag, no crinkling sound, no scratchy material. I believe the package says you can lay directly on the protector - However I cover the protector with organic sheets which my kids lay on top of with no complaints.

We bought our first PUREgrace crib mattress cover for our daughter's toddler convertible bed a year and a half ago when looking for a safe and high quality product for her to sleep on after a disappointing leakage experience with the cover we'd gotten when purchasing her crib. We have been so impressed with this cover that we bought them for her new twin bed - as well as for our queen mattress. This cover is easy to get on/off and has proven to be waterproof; it has fitted sides so it envelops the mattress and there is no accidental leakage from it slipping around. The material itself is so soft and comfortable that it's kind of hard to believe it absorbs liquid - but it does, as we can attest from many overnight accidents and sick days. It's not that plasticky kind of cover that keeps you awake all night or causes you to overheat. It's also really easy to clean; it washes well and is dryer safe - but I have always air dried ours as an extra precaution and it dries well within the day. I highly recommended this. If you can afford a little extra, it is well worth the cost.

Update: 1/2023: this cover is still in great condition after almost 2 years and NUMEROUS washings. My toddler is having a particularly difficult time with potty training, and my matress still loks brandnew thanks to this cover. Okay, I love this! I recently purchased a memory foam mattress and didn't want to pay $200 for the mattress companies version, so I found this one. It's water proof, I know this very well because my toddler sleeps with me pretty often and occasionally has accidents. The protector works perfectly. I've also had to wash it a number of times in the past 4 months, and its held up extremely well. Its soft to the touch and doesn't interfere with the comfort of the mattress. And the additional straps to keep it on your mattress are AMAZING. I never have to fuss with it, even after using the adjustable base moving the mattress around. Before I purchased my new mattress, I also used mattress covers, which served their purpose, but had to be readjust a lot and were really BULKY. This cover is not, it seems to weigh a little more than the other covers, but takes up much less room. 10/10. I can't recommend this product enough.

For reference we have a 12 inch zinus brand foam mattress… I had purchased an Amazon brand mattress cover when we purchased the new mattress three years ago, the lining went to shreds even with minimal washing… So I thought getting something that would last longer would be better. When I sit on it I don’t hear a loud crunching noise, absolutely no smell after taking it out of the bag… And I’m big on no chemicals in the house. And I can’t get over how soft it is, looks like my cat felt the same way and jumped on it immediately after putting it on the bed. I thought the straps underneath on each corner were redundant, but as soon as I put it on I can see that it’s going to keep it from pulling out so easily where I have to tuck it in on the sides again like I used to with the other one. I have 100% Tencel (eucalyptus) blanket from Buffy, so I knew that material would be perfect… Keeping us from getting sweaty in the summertime. A good quality sleep is worth the money!

This is so soft and I'm so happy with my purchase. I washed it and dried it on low prior to placing on my mattress and it fit perfectly. I purchased this because Tencel is supposed to help with keeping cool and I have definitely slept well since I've started using it. Was it this, was it the 100% cotton sheets, was it the 100% cotton blanket? Who knows? I'm just happy to stop waking up sweaty in the middle of the night. Definitely worth it and I highly recommend it.

It's well made, soft but firm, decent thickness and it stays smooth over the entire mattress. No bundling or wrinkling under bottom sheet. Easy to launder, too! Not too sure about temperature regulating yet. I've only used it with an electric blanket during erratic fluctuations in winter weather. So far, I'm extremely pleased with this cover.
