The high setting trips the breaker every time and the low setting doesn't create much heat. The fan barely moves any air. It also does not have a tip over safety switch to turn it off if it tips over.

Although these heaters have temperature sensors which shut them down if they get too hot inside, it's still a good idea to keep their heating elements clean to get the best performance. There might be some trick to cleaning them without opening the heater, such as hitting them with a powerful blast of compressed air from the front. I couldn't find anything about this on the internet. The standard advice is to leave cleaning up to experts, but I've dismantled my heaters many times to get at the back of their heating elements and vacuum them, and haven't had any serious problems. I tried using a shop vac with a cut-off funnel as a nozzle to pull air backwards through the heater, but this didn't get the heating element clean. ... show more
