Bought it for my 8 year old, she has some experience prior to buying this. So she knows the it's and outs. Intelligent kid. It's honestly way to basic, the meter is difficult to read, it jumps around to much and doesn't stay positioned long enough when you are directly on top on the metal item. I opened the box and it was apparent it had been used and resold as new. There was some kind of substance on the shovel and the handle of the detector. It was also missing nuts needed to hold the handle together. I wasn't expecting a lot for the price but I am seriously disappointed.
