Box was delivered with light to moderate damage, but product was undamaged. Once taken out of the box, it was easy to assemble & only took about 10min to do so. Shelves are particle board but about 1/2" thick. The tubes are made of plastic but tighten up nicely. Only wish the caps on the top sat flush with the shelf. I had a crazy setup for a TV stand before I purchased this one. Its a 60 in tv on a piece of plywood, on top of a normal table. I knew it had to go but didn't want to shell out a ton of money to replace it. For this price its actually pretty well made. Only thing is I believe mine was missing a piece, but even without it it seems to be pretty sturdy. Fit within a small space and it doesn't take much room at all.
