The Techwood Hot Plate Portable Electric Stove is a fantastic little appliance that delivers excellent value for the price. I’ve purchased several of these over the years, and overall, they’ve been a reliable and convenient addition to my kitchen at home and events. First off, the performance is impressive. Comparable to commercial electric stove. With 1500 watts of power, this hot plate heats up quickly and provides consistent cooking temperatures. The adjustable temperature control works well, allowing me to fine-tune the heat for everything from simmering sauces to boiling water. The compact and portable design is another big plus. It’s lightweight and doesn’t take up much space, making it perfect for small kitchens or even cooking for events in tights spaces. The stay-cool handles are a thoughtful addition, making it safe and easy to move the hot plate around, even when it’s been in use for a while. However, I’m giving this product 4 stars instead of 5 because of its durability. While most of the units I’ve purchased have worked well, one or two had a shorter lifespan than expected. They stopped functioning properly after about a year of regular use, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the majority of them have held up just fine, and for the price, I still think it’s a great deal. Overall, the Techwood Hot Plate is a solid choice for anyone looking for an affordable, portable, and efficient cooking solution. It’s not perfect in terms of longevity, but it definitely gives you the best bang for your buck.

It looks beautiful on top of my stove. I needed another way to cook in my RV as the gas burners put out too much heat for summer cooking. It's very quiet operating as well. The burner size is quite large which I was pleasantly surprised about. The controller turns smoothly. The pans seem to heat evenly which I like very much. All in all, I am extremely happy with this purchase.

I recently purchased the Techwood 1800W Portable Electric Stove with high hopes for a convenient and efficient cooking solution, but unfortunately, my experience has been less than satisfactory. One of the major drawbacks is the inconsistent heating performance. Despite the 1800W power rating, the burners seem to struggle to reach and maintain the desired temperature. Cooking times are prolonged, and achieving even heat distribution across cookware has proven to be a challenge. This inconsistency has significantly impacted the quality of my cooking, leading to frustration and disappointment. The build quality of the electric stove also leaves much to be desired. The materials used feel flimsy, and the overall construction lacks durability. The adjustable temperature control, while present, seems imprecise and unreliable, making it difficult to achieve the desired cooking results. The stay-cool handles, advertised as a feature, don't effectively dissipate heat, posing a safety concern during use. Another issue is the limited size of the 7.5" cooktop. While it may be suitable for some basic cooking tasks, it proves impractical for larger pots and pans, restricting the versatility of the appliance. I bought this item with one aim in mind: boil water to cook pasta. This unit failed. It got hot, there's no denying that. It got so hot that I had to use an oven mitt to turn the knob. The knob gets incredibly hot, which is a danger to burn your fingers. Not very safe! I used this unit by putting 4 quarts of water in an 8 quart pot. The water never boiled after an hour. It didn't even reach more than a very weak simmer. I got this device to try to cook a pound of pasta while preparing a sauce on my stovetop. It failed to even get the water to a boil. It might be good for sauteeing and stir frying, but it does not work well for cooking pasta. Plus, the fact that you need an oven mitt just to turn the knob doesn't let me feel comfortable with the control knob. The search continues...
