  • Very large, but not a bad thing.
So as you can see by the picture these are quite large. My AP point, a tp-link 901 series, came with 5dBi antennas on them but I was having trouble getting signal out into my yard which I may or may not sit in my car for an hour at times on my phone. Long story short, these greatly increased the coverage inside my house, outside; not as much as I'd have wished for. The main problem for me, is that I live in a brick house and that basically kills my signal quite drastically. It did, however, increase its full bar when outside which was enough to acquire an adequate signal. My advice for anyone buying these is to first check the environment; then purchase. I'd still get these 100% just would have used them on another AP point in my large house. Anyone looking to transmit through a study house wall would be better off buying an external/outside-rated AP point that way it's not being crammed though such materials. Again, just to recap, I bought these with the purpose of extending my wifi out into my yard. Instead, it gave me full house-coverage which believe it or not wasn't the goal. ... show more

  • Well made but ultimately did not improve signal strength at the receiver.
The antennas upon inspection appear well made. The RP SMA connector tightened snugly up the mating connector on the camera. In the antenna hinge I could see high quality 50ohm coax cable was used in its construction. The antenna allows itself to be swiveled for best positioning. I have 2 problem WiFi cameras in a 6 camera NVR system I just purchased. Before I wire the problem cameras in vs WiFi , I thought Id try to replace their antennas with better gain ones. I replaced the 5dbi antennas that came with each cameras with the 9dbi Techtoos. Doing a totally qualitative test to compare the two antennas, I did a A/B comparison and I could see none or marginal improvement of signal strength at the NVR receiver which shows signal strength for each camera from 0 to 4 bars. I suspect the antennas worked fine but the wall and blockages attenuate too much for the location of the camera even with higher gain antennas. I was concerned about twisting the antenna and breaking the connection, but as it turns out the plastic outer case is a sleeve that moves about the metal antenna inside, a good design. ... show more

  • The Force is strong with this one.
Bought these and other antennas for a live-streaming project on my farm. From 4 sets, these provided the best signal on 2.4Ghz and very decent on 5Ghz (to my surprise). Two way connectivity 200+ meters away from the AP(+two of these antennas) and my MacbookPro.

  • Very good 2.4GHz (ONLY) performance!
These are for single band 2.4GHz use ONLY. If you have a multi-band device, especially one that uses 5.6GHz, these are NOT the antennas for you. I used these to replace the OEM antennas on my new wireless camera system. They definitely did help. After installing these antennas, the signal strength on two of the cameras that frequently lost connectivity to the DVR became stronger and far more stable. As other reviewers have noted, they are rather long as compared to the original antennas. ... show more

  • They work
While the signal strength doesn't seem to be higher, as shown by apps measuring that, the measured download speed is higher than with the original antennas on my Asus router. Range doesn't seem better either. (lots of interference in my apartment building.) Overall, these are keepers.

  • This antenna is long
This is really long; 15 or 16 inches. Longer than I expected. It seems a bit heavy for the camera as when the antennae is positioned paralllel to the ground gravity takes over and it ends up pointing straight down. The connection is good but when you look at the bars for signal strength it is only showing one bar while the other camera signal shows 3 - 4 bar. 4 bars is full signal. I have only had it installed for one day. The signal display is deceiving which is strange but it's working so far. ... show more

  • marginally better range, but may be worth it for some
marginally better range, but may be worth it for some. Figure 10% at best. WiFi receiver in your devices also matters a lot. Upgraded my PC's 2x2 AV Killer Wireless 1535 card to a 3x3 N900 usb adapter and got about 15-20% boost. Before upgrading router's antennas look into nice WiFi adapter

  • It strengthen my wifi signal for about 10 to 15 %
For the price, really worth it to buy if you need to strengthen a little bit your wifi signal rather than buying a wifi extender. Put it in my Dlink Router (without any adapter) and now my wifi signal is enhanced. I couldnt be happier with it.
