The heavy base makes this lamp sturdy and the assembly was fairly easy except our box was missing an important nut and washer. Customer service was not as helpful as I expected but our local hardware store was helpful and we love the new lamp. Would have been a 5 star if all parts were included.

I really like this lamp! It is sturdy with a heavy base, so you don't have to worry about knocking it over. It took about ten minutes to put it together with one other person's help. It does not come with a bulb so have one ready (the standard size works). My only complaint is that it is a little bit shorter than what I would have liked. The main part of the lamp (the dome where the bulb is) is right at head height for most people, especially men. I will probably hit my head on it (multiple times) in the future, but it looks so nice it's probably worth it. ... show more

This is a beautiful light once you’re able to get it all assembled. However, curiously, it was missing all the necessary screws, especially and most importantly the bolt/nut that connects the pole to the base. This is the mess I went through: 1. I checked the q&a’s on Amazon only to learn that many other people were sent everything but the bolts. But no one knew the actual size of the required bolt… 2. I went to Ace Hardware and ended up buying the two bolts/nuts (an M10 and a 7/16), which most closely aligned with the diameter I measured out (note: taking the whole lamp to Ace was not really possible given all the electrical attachments). And, neither bolt fit! 3. I went back to Ace, this time detaching everything so I was only carrying the pole that needed the bolt/nut (yes, I cut the wire), and the Ace specialist said, “this is so strange - the only bolt/nut that fits is an irregular one.” I said “great,” purchased it, and reconnected the wiring and completed the installation. However, the mistake I made was not getting the size of the irregular bolt that ended up fitting. What should have taken 30-45 minutes to setup took 3.5 frustrating hours. Maybe I should have contacted the manufacturer and waited the 3-5 days to get the bolts that weren’t shipped…? ... show more

Saw something like this in AD for several thousand $, loved the modern look, not the price. Found this little number, looks right out of the RH or Barn showroom. Very heavy marble stand, but needed to defy gravity. Beautiful and useful for task lighting especially. Considering another for downstairs. Perfect for a small space or nook - and it's beautiful! The marble base is very heavy, of course, because, marble! But, it's a beautiful lamp - marble base and matte finish dome! Silly tip - but, follow the instructions from Step 1 - I skipped the instructions and started at the base which was totally doh! on my part - had to start over and it was much easier! Live and learn. :) Invest in a warm soft bulb if you plan to sit underneath it so you aren't blinded. The lamp and lighting created a soothing, inviting corner of a small living room (515 sq ft apartment). Seriously considering ordering another one in the future! ... show more
