Awesome product. I have been planning to setting a home theater in my loft and this has been the exact product I needed. It reduced my overall budget of buying a TV without compromising on the overall experience. The projection is very sharp and the colors are amazing. Features like autofocus and auto keystone and builtin wifi, apps, and speakers, ability to connect to existing sound system through Bluetooth and available HDMI port.. gives everything you can ask especially at this price point. I am very satisfied with the purchases and has also recommended for multiple friends. The build quality is good and the speaker volume is enough. TCL produced a powerhouse of a projector in this A1s model. I have bought many ultra-short-throw, short-throw and long-throw premium and budget projectors in recent years from the likes of Valerion, Hisense, JMGO, XGIMI, Viewsonic, Aurzen, Magcubic and Wanbo. This is the best budget model I've seen. The A1s projects an image that is bright and colorful, especially for an LCD projector, often featuring drab displays, and focus is sharp throughout. Usually, with budget models, focus and brightness are very weak on the edges, making use of these kinds of projectors for gaming a challenge. Inclusion of the Google TV operating system means you'll have access to just about all streaming apps, including Netflix. Projectors costing $3,000 just two to three years ago often ran only Android TV, with Netflix out of the equation. I really want to give this projector five stars, but TCL made two mistakes with this model. First, the HDMI port is 1.4 and not 2.1, meaning you can't get 4K 60 HZ. You get only 30 HZ. This is especially an issue with gaming. Incredibly, TCL's C1 model, the cheapest in its lineup, has a 2.1 HDMI port. Why did TCL use an inferior HDMI input for a higher-end projector whereas its most-budget-friendly model got a superior HDMI input? Additionally, the C1 model comes with a gimbal, making it easy to point the projector at a ceiling. This A1s model doesn't feature this game-changing feature. You can still project onto a ceiling, but you'll need to use either a vented desktop laptop stand or desktop projector gimbal, likely with a 5- or 10-pound plate weight. So much trouble while hoping your cat doesn't bump into it and sending it tumbling to the floor. Had TCL included a 2.1 HDMI port and gimbal, this A1s projector would easily get five stars. If these issues don't affect your decision making, get ready to enjoy a spectacular image and top-notch sound at a superb price. I paid just $289 during a Christmas sale. Outstanding value! Bring on the 4K, short-throw and ultra-short-throw projector lineup, TCL!

This is a very good projector. The picture quality is top notch. there's at least 5 different preset modes along with manual picture settings. The speakers are decent, better than average. Depending on the type of screen you use I believe the color of the picture is above average. I enjoy the smaller footprint with the portable size versus my previous projector was bigger with a higher lumens with a better color but it was twice as loud with a cheaper price tag. This projector is on sale now and is $37 cheaper than what I paid for. I'm not a fan of Google so I just plug my Apple TV into it. There's an older model with less lumens but it's nice to have two options from TCL. They make awesome TV's so their second projector is pretty darn good, obviously it's not 4k but again it's not $1000 either. It does a good job at finding the screen and sizing it up properly as in better than most. I decided to keep it.

Got this primarily to have backyard movie nights with the family, and for holidays and major sporting events like Super Bowl, so I can watch games outdoors while I’m barbecuing. I am happy with this purchase, which I got for a pretty good deal during Prime Day. Watched Jurassic World and the picture quality was very good, images and video were crisp and clear. I appreciated the auto focus feature whenever it detected movement. Setup was very easy and straightforward- the only part that took awhile was the Google TV OS had to download and install system updates out of the box, but once installed the software ran smooth with no issues. It is also able to download all the apps I needed for family movie nights, including YouTube TV for live sports. I do wish, however, that the Google interface didn’t bury manual focus and keystone so deep in the settings, but once you get the hang of it it’s okay., just wish they will change that in a future update. The audio is very good, speakers are clear and fairly loud - I could hear dialogue even over the sound of the fan powering my inflatable projector screen outdoors. I still plan to get an external speaker to get more bass, though. It has Bluetooth and 3.5mm aux output for audio, and also has 1 HDMI in case you prefer to skip Google TV and use a Fire Stick, or even a gaming console. While there are other brands on Amazon I’ve never heard of selling projectors, I was satisfied with TCL for the Roku TV and thought I’d give it shot. Overall I’d recommend this projector if it’s in your budget.

excellent projector -- took advantage of a good price before the holidays. like any projector it works best in darker rooms. That being said, the lumens it produces is perfect for a white wall. the quality is kind of shocking to be honest. I use it to show multiple games during big sports weekends. Its color quality is pretty amazing for a budget projector. Keep in mind, projectors can go for 1000s of dollars, given its price point, i recommend. Having google tv built in is key also, also wireless connectivity, and access to all the normal streaming apps. Streamed with no issues. The case is very cool, the handle, only negative, is it's not a battery powered projector, but at the power it outputs that is relatively expected. Sound quality is pretty amazing as well --

overall this projector is great when you get it working. The apps its comes with is just like a home tv and the video quality is great along with the sound it emits. What i don't like about it is that it is a process to get focused and centered. we bought this project along with a blow up screen for our yard for movie nights and gathers we have. The auto focus button does not work properly and the settings do not save once powered down. In order for us to get it working on our movie screen we had to manually adjust it with the remote to fit the screen we have. this took us about 30 mins the 1st time just to figure out how to get it going. I think this product could be easier to use on a designated screen but if used on a blank wall i could see it being easier to use and to adjust.

This is probably one of the best projectors I’ve ever owned. Setup was very simple, auto keystone and zoom are great and take the hassle out of adjusting like I did in the past. The picture is crystal clear and the sound quality is great. It really acts just like my other Google TVs. The only thing that was a tad annoying was the lengthy software update. However, once it got going I was very pleased.
