You get the biggest bang for your dollar when you purchase the TCL QM8L series TV. I am a huge Samsung loyal customer, but when it came time to purchase my 75" TV I decided to go with TCL. Why? Value for the money, picture quality, Setup, Connectivity, and the list goes on. Please note, I did pair my TCL 75" QM8L with a Samsung Q Series Soundbar HW-Q990F, and OMG what a match made in heaven. I had it professionally mounted so there wasn't really any setup that I did myself. I already have a Google account so accessing the main menu was a breeze. Every account you have for like Netflix, Prime Video, or Disney+ can be logged into easily with the QR code. The remote is SO nice with the backlit buttons...it's sensitive to being moved and will light up which is really convenient. Even though it's plastic it feels premium. Colors were meh on startup, but with some simple adjustments I was able to get them to feel just right. If there's ever a scene with just white, prepare to avert your eyes because it's like staring into the sun! And when the screen goes black it is actually just a black screen as if it were off which is incredible because usually you'll see a sort of off black or gray. The technology in this thing is insanely impressive and for the price I feel like I got a steal. ... show more

I was was excited for this TV but came to discover that by design, you are forced to watch ads (they try to sell as "recomendations" and horribly invasive privacy settings). If this was just a couple of hundred dollars that might be expected but at 2000 this is totally unacceptable. Right off the bat, setting up this TV was super frustrating as you are forced to create a google account, the days of just being able to turn on and use your TV are over if you go with TCL apparently. I was willing to still give it a shot though because of all the hype and after being forced to make a google account I noticed all the settings were set to share your data by default unless you turn it off. Once again I was willing to take the time to turn off all the invasive data sharing and even found the "apps" only mode so you are not bombarded with ads or "recomendations" on the homescreen but here is the catch, if you enable apps only mode it disables google AI assistance, one of the main selling points of this TV! By design you are punished for turning ads off essentially. I talked to TCL support and they admitted this was by design and nothing that can be done about it despite having all the latest firmware and software versions. I know we could buy a third part user interface like apple TV, but once again at 2000 dollars (and more depending on the size you get) this is totally unnaceptable and we will be returning it. ... show more

I really researched to find something that would $$ wise be reasonable and give me a sense of quality that makes the investment worthwhile. And with Amazon making it easy to return if it didn’t work out gave me the confidence to pull the trigger. So far I’ve not been disappointed. I work in the media field professionally primarily in audio mixing audio for video/screen. This was pretty impressive. I have an 85” LG OLED for my professional use and this TCL is amazing. It was either this or the Sony Bravia. I saved some $$ going with TCL for the home. I added a full Sonos theater surround system for my satisfaction but was very impressed with the stock sound the TCL output. Great buy and solid investment. ******* ... show more
