I have a 65" LG OLED tv that I thought was the king of picture clarity. It cost over three times the price of this set. Well guess what, this set may even beat it; it sure seems that way. I have the two TV's I am comparing in separate rooms so I cannot really get too specific on any minute points. Just to bring the message home though compare this same TCL 55 Inch to the same model in the 65" and it comes in at a price point that is the same as my LG OLED. So, we are dealing with a truly high-end performer. I have several people in my house using the TV so I was immediately drawn to the feature of having individual profiles that you can password protect for each individual up to six different people. Of course, Amazon Prime Videos are password protected anyhow so that is not a concern, but just the same I do not want someone messing with my preferences and settings. So, everyone sets up a separate profile and enjoys the same benefits. Set the picture to Vivid and get ready to get your socks blown off. Watching a basketball game, or baseball, or anything that is superbly lit is a total show off result, incredible enough for others to make a comment about it: it is that amazing. It is difficult to capture the incredible quality of this set with a 1080P camera and taking a picture of a picture, but believe me, you will be amazed. Amazon has some recommended wall mounts that are compatible with this set; just ask Rufus on this page. I bought one of the recommended ones and it works perfectly. I love that it is adjustable in about every conceivable way such as aiming it left to right, extending it away from the wall, as well as tilting it down to get the ideal viewing angle. You do not even need a digital source to bring out mind-blowing results on this set. A simple rabbit ear antenna is all that is needed. May I suggest the Amazon Basics Full Motion Articulating TV Wall Mount, with Swivel and Tilt, for 26" to 55" TVs and Flat Panels up to 80 Lbs, VESA Compatible, Single Stud, Black. The price point is amazing. I am using it now and it does a superb job. The other wonderful thing is that this TV has Amazon Alexa built right in, so no need to buy an extra dongle. The whole TV runs through Alexa and there is a microphone button right on the remote. This is a wonderful opportunity to get a set that performs well beyond its price point. It is not just me. I am so happy with this 55” TCL smart 4K Fire TV! Amazon, thank you! The delivery was flawless, Amazon team unpacked it and set it up on its stand and made sure it was working properly and cleaned up all the packing materials and they were so nice. I’d never heard of this brand of tv but took a chance on ordering it and I’m so glad I did. The picture quality is absolutely superb! Sharp details, high def contrast. And the speaker! Oh my gosh, the speaker quality is exemplary, better than any other tv I’ve had in this room so I won’t need a sound bar with this tv like I do with the other tv’s in our home. The description “mini led” caught me off guard and I thought it must be a mini (tiny) tv, lol. Not so.! It’s a true 55” Fire TV. Mini led QLED actually means that there are MORE, thousands!, of much smaller (mini) LED lights behind the screen, unlike the older led screens that have a fraction of the the number, and much larger, led lights. I’m going to go tech there to explain the significance of these lights. Mini LED TVs use thousands of tiny backlight LEDs to provide superior brightness, deep contrast, and less "blooming" (light haloing) than traditional LED TVs and often with quantum dot technology (Neo QLED) for vibrant colors, and generally have a longer lifespan without burn-in risks. And I have to say that this tv provides brilliantly vivid colors, exceptional brightness and much clearer black screen contrast than our brand new 75” Toshiba fire tv does. It’s also reported to be a much better tv for gaming experience. This tv, with its state of the art tech is a must have for all you gamers, movie lovers and streaming fans.     • My TV Is Now Smarter Than I Am And I'm Okay With That

I've been using the same old TV for years, the kind that takes forever to load apps and makes everything look slightly washed out. When this arrived, I was excited but also a little intimidated. The box was huge and the words Mini LED QLED 4K HDR sounded like a tech spec sheet written in a foreign language. Setup was surprisingly simple—just screw on the feet, plug it in, and follow the prompts on screen. The picture is genuinely stunning. Blacks are deep and inky, colors pop without looking fake, and even old movies I've seen a hundred times have new details I never noticed. The 120Hz refresh rate makes sports and action movies buttery smooth. The Fire TV interface is snappy and responsive, no more waiting five seconds for Netflix to load. The Onkyo audio is surprisingly good for built-in TV speakers—clear dialogue and enough bass that I haven't bothered connecting my soundbar. · What I liked: Picture quality punches way above the price point. Fast refresh rate makes gaming and sports look incredible. Built-in Fire TV eliminates the need for a separate streaming stick. Voice remote actually works without yelling. Onkyo speakers are legitimately good. · What I'd note for others: It's a 55-inch, so measure your space. The glossy screen shows reflections in bright rooms. Setup requires two people if you're not comfortable lifting alone. Movie nights have become an event again. I'm hoping the Mini LED technology holds up over years of use, because this TV has ruined me for watching anything on smaller screens now. ... show more
