Great comfort and perfect fit for a curl bar. I had to use a squirt of WD-40 to get it to slip on and even that was quite difficult. So suffice to say it is a nice tight fit on the bar.

I bought this to replace the foam tubing on the handle of my inversion table. After cutting the old foam tubing off, I tried to slip this new foam tubing over the handle, but couldn't get it to go more than a few inches before it got stuck. I tried heating it with a hair dryer too but that also didn't work. So what finally worked was this: with the new foam tubing off, wet a paper towel and apply a small amount of dish soap to it. Get the paper towel nice and soapy. Now wipe the soapy paper towel all over the bare handle. Then, wet the inside of the new foam tubing by either running a garden hose through it, or by running water through it in your sink. Make sure all of the inner sides of the foam tubing are wet. Then, start slipping the new foam tubing over the handle and you will notice that it will slip on nearly effortlessly. After it is completely on, It will initially still be loose and can easily slip around on the handle. But after waiting a day, the water evaporates, and the new foam tubing will be tight.

I have an old doorframe pull-up bar and the foam handles had split. I saw these and measured 0.2”, which would have been thicker than the existing foam. When I got them, I noticed they were actually slightly less thick than the ones which split apart. It’s still okay, but would be nice with more padding. It’s more of a dense kind of rubbery foam. Cut the pieces down a few inches to fit the handles, mixed a spray bottle with a tiny amount of dish soap, spritzed the inside of the foam tube and it slid on without much effort.

Used as replacement grips for a pullup bar. Smooth on the outside with comfortable amount of cushioning inside. Pretty easy to slip over bars but check your outer diameters. Was able to install one set by pushing and pulling pretty easily. Bought another set for neutral grips portion of same bar and had to use a bit of soapy water as recommended. Cheaper than other grips/tubing with great functionality.

Outstanding pullup bar foam grip replacement. VERY comfortable. Soft rubber rather than foam. Great! I used other buyers' directions of using dish soap and water to install these replacement pieces on my pullup bar. They are a fantastic thickness and feel MUCH better when I'm hanging from them than the foam grip pieces they replaced. I am wonderfully pleased with this product. I would buy again. I hope they'll prove durable with my regular use.

The material is very durable, tough, padded, etc... but I find it to be too slick for gripping (especially for pull-ups). It is more of a smooth rubbery finish than that of a foam (like what used to be on my bar before wearing out). Make no mistake, I doubt this will wear out. But I have trouble gripping this and hanging on to do sets of pull-ups, especially if my hands are the least bit sweaty. I typically have to use chalk/powder. I may have to look for something else.

I would have liked suggestions on how to install them. This is my second pair. I used dish soap the first time. I don't recommend that method. But corn starch worked well for the second pair.

The drawing accompanying these items indicated that they have a 1 inch ID but they are actually much smaller ( 18 mm ) even the package indicates that they are intended for 18 mm applications.
