I picked this up for my son, we installed it on his Rem. 870 along with a 16" barrel. It's now part of his "roll out" gear for when he gets called for deployment. He used to have a "stock sock" that held 6 rounds, but it was always getting caught up or twisted up in the sling. This stock does add some weight, but he says the extra weight and additional "included" pads help with recoil. The rounds fit perfectly (up to 3") and are held in place tight but can be remove quickly when needed. He says he doesn't have to drop the gun from his shoulder to load rounds now. I will now be getting one for my Mossberg 500

I resisted a lot of the numerous add-ons to the time-honored Remington 870 shotgun for many, many years. The 870 is a fantastic design as it comes from the factory, and is one of the best pump shotgun designs ever. There is a myriad of add-on items made for the 870. It's questionable whether the majority of them add to the functionality and usability of the basic design. This item does. Although additional ammunition is always desirable, I did not want to add to the width of the receiver of the shotgun by adding a spare shell mount on the receiver, as this causes me a speed problem w/shouldering and firing the gun. This stock takes care of the extra ammunition issue. It allows you to carry an additional five (5) rounds out of the way, yet easily accessible. The stock mounts easily and the only tool required is a phillips screwdriver. Stock is solid and shoulders well. It is obviously heavier than the regular issue stock (if for no other reason than the added weight of the extra ammo). Does anyone really buy a combat shotgun based on the weight of the gun? With a factory magazine extension and this stock, you can carry eleven rounds on your 870. I don't care who you are, eleven rounds of .12 gauge (even 2/34" shells) is a force to be reckoned with. I can't speak to the longetivity of the product, as time will tell. It is robustly made and gives the impression it will be around and functional for the long haul. This product fills a niche nicely. I would recommend anyone looking for a way to carry some extra rounds for their Remington 870 to take a hard look at this product.

Nice concept, easy to use with practice. (you need to always practice with your defense tools) Fit to my action very well. A couple of the molding lines were proud and sharp. An easy fix being patient with a razor blade. The first round comes out harder than the rest. Hopefully with break-in, it will get better. Heavier than expected. I knew with shells it would add weight, but it felt heavy without shells compared to what was on before. The good part with that is it added the weight close to the body.

With just a little practice I was able to feed the 5 shells pretty quickly. I'm sure I'll get faster ad I use it more. I'd buy again.

Its like adding a 25 pound weight to you gun with out the shells ..it is def built well but heavy as hell too late to return ordered it and open the box to late to busy at work

Replaced the original wood stock on an old Remington 870 Police Magnum, and installation was a breeze. Comfortable for anyone used to old-school rifle stocks (vs. pistol grip or Magpul’s hybrid grip). Haven’t taken it to the range yet but did some dry runs with snap caps. Might take a little practice to be proficient at shooting drills, but drawing rounds from the stock seems pretty intuitive. Only drawback is the lack of a sling swivel stud, but I added a GG&G QD sling attachment between stock and receiver.

This is awesome! I installed it in less than 10 minutes (probably quicker if I read the directions first). I replaced my old useless stock with this-much more sturdy Tactaload stock. It gives me 5 more shells to grab when needed; quicker than a sling or side mount thing. The speed you can get to the extra 5 shells is the difference. The time is the difference, this stock will prevail.
