I LOVE this security camera. The battery life is excellent because of the aided solar panel, just be sure to fully charge the camera prior to setting it up. The setup itself was so easy. Very easy to assemble the components together prior to placement. A few screws to mount to a solid surface and live view feature in the app to help make sure my needed security area was covered and I was good. I really like that the app also gives you the ability to turn the motion off temporarily if you will have a lot of known activity in the monitored area and do not want to have it recording the whole time. The video and picture quality is great too. I am fully impressed with the functionality of this camera and highly recommend.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this one deserved it. I picked up the TACTACAM - Defend 360 Cellular Security Camera to keep an eye on my property, and honestly, it’s blown me away. Setup was super simple, and within minutes I was watching crystal-clear video right from my phone. The 360° pan and tilt feature is amazing! I can scan the entire area without needing multiple cameras. The solar panel keeps it charged up, even in cloudy weather, and the motion alerts are instant and reliable. I mainly use mine around my farm and outbuildings, but I’m already planning to add more for full coverage. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can check in anytime, whether I’m home or away. What really impressed me most is how rugged and weather-resistant it is. It’s been through rain, wind, and some pretty cold nights here so far and it hasn’t missed a beat. I was very excited to get this as my first cell camera, with plans to use it for both hunting and security in the off-season. Within two days of having it now, I can tell you it is garbage for both applications, mainly due to the fact that every function is locked behind a paywall. To fully utilize this camera and its basic functions, it will cost you between $20-$50 per month. I'll list off my issues with it *The 306-degree camera only works while you are in a live view mode ( paid extra). This function is required to aim the camera after you set it up, and with the $20 a month plan, you have limited use of this mode. So you can only move the camera point of aim, or scan the property a few times per month, without paying an additional fee to use the feature more. You can not record while in live view unless you use a 3rd party screen record app. You're only able to snap a photo while in this mode. *Photo delay between motion detect and picture snap is over 1 second. So cars and animals can very easily pass right by the camera without being caught. *It does record a video with every picture taken, apparently. However, you can only view those videos by requesting them ( pay wall) *Camera needs to be mounted at least 10+ feet in the air to get any real view range. But the motion trigger range is much shorter than it needs to be for use as a security camera. It says 40 feet, but really it's more like 10 feet. *The plastic mounting bracket feels very cheap; I could easily over-tighten a screw and break it. * It took 6 hours to fully charge the battery while plugged into the wall, and it lost 10% of its charge while outside in the direct FL sun .. So I honestly don't think that solar panel is going to do anything more than prolong the battery from dying. I don't see it recharging the battery enough to keep it fully charged all the time. *And the final straw? I've had a possum sitting in front of the camera for the past 4 or 5 hours, received 6 photos, and zero notifications. The last photo was 2 hours ago, I just went live on it to find the possum still sitting on the corn pile feasting away. **It does not do any motion tracking, the camera will not lock on and follow a target around automatically, like other 360 cameras will do. **It has to be mounted upside down, so one side of your rotation will always be blocked by the tree or wall you have it mounted to. **The movement controls of the camera are not sensitive enough, making it difficult to center the frame on a specific location, more so when trying to zoom in. ***It does not have a built-in GPS device. So, if someone steals it, you are just out $200. ****Honest review. Except for the cellular connection, this is no different than a $20 security camera they sell at the gas station.. except its ten times bigger and heavier than it really should be.

I purchased this camera as a test. Last year, I bought a set of cheap WiFi cameras to monitor a situation with our neighbors animals trespassing onto our property. I set the Defend camera up right next to the others because I wanted to see if the image quality and sensitivity to motion was better (I knew our cameras were not picking up things we wanted them to pick up). This was definitely a case of “you get what you pay for”. The photo quality of the Defend camera far surpasses the other camera, motion sensitivity is spot on, and the app functions MUCH better than the cheap Chinese cameras I bought. I love: 1. The cameras are mounted in the same spot. The Defend’s zoom and focus is exactly where I want it. The other camera is zoomed out (I also think this is why the motion detection doesn’t work as well). 2. Image quality is 10x better. We get a lot of unfocused/washed out images from the other camera. 3. We live in remote Montana and I was half convinced I’d have to return this camera because we can’t get cell phones to work at our house. It works flawlessly! Full service at our house. 4. The app is so easy to use, the camera took nothing to set up.

This is a great camera. I use mine at the lake house. I gives me the ability to see the dock and rotate it around and see the house. It actually rotates 355 degrees. The motion sensor has taken pictures of deer in the yard and boats going near the dock.It doesn't need electricity or Wi-Fi either, which means you can locate it exactly where it is needed. Plans are reasonable, but if you want to look anytime you like, you need the most expensive. If you don't need to see that often, the cheaper plan is fine because it sends a picture every 12 hours from the initial setup. Pay attention to the time you set it up, if it matters to you when the pics are taken. I wish I had known that. Mine sends a picture at 1:50 pm and 1:50 am when it is dark. The main reason for these 2 pictures daily is if you don't have a lot of movement activating the camera, you know it is working.

When searching for a security camera, I needed something that I could see my whole yard and my driveway. I needed something that could connect to a cell service and that would give me clear pictures. With the Defend 360 I am able to see when someone comes up my driveway before that get in my yard. A notification comes right to my phone and I can go into live view and see who it is. My kids play in the yard so I am able to keep an eye on them with the 360 pan tilt and zoom on the Defend 360. It has an internal lithium battery and a Solar panel that I can either attach to the camera or mount it higher up to get better sunlight. It was easy to install and has clear daytime and nighttime photos. I am very pleased with the product and plan to buy more soon.

I have always used Tactacam for my hunting trail cameras. My wife and I recently purchased 10 acres and I needed something more permanent and less easily accessible than my normal trail cameras. I purchased this after seeing them for awhile. Setup: Setup was extremely easy and self explanatory. I was a little disappointed that I couldnt add it to the original Reveal app. Once I got everything set up I immediately was impressed. After setting it up, I went into the application and changed the setting as I do with my normal trail cameras. I started playing with the PTZ function and was very satisfied by the response and smoothness. After installing I proceeded to do my other chores. After finishing my chores I went back and reviewed the app. The quality of pictures was great and video and live view was great. I was a little disappointed by the length of time it took to load the live view but ultimately im happy with my purchase. The connectivity was fast. I was very hesitant to purchase this camera after reading reviews but I have to say, I am impressed. Can't make everyone happy. I have yet to have a bad experience with any Tactacam cameras. Battery life so far seems great. I do recommend charging your camera fully prior to set up. So far the functionality is great! Considering pricing for other Tactacam cameras, the value for money makes this camera well worth it to me.
