  • Great way to make your own squishy toys
Bottom Line Up Front: If you have an elementary or middle schooler who is completely obsessed with squishies and sensory toys, this DIY crafting kit is a wonderful, engaging gift. It moves past basic coloring crafts to let kids mix up actual liquid goops and cast their own soft, flexible characters. It's a beautiful, high-quality final product that easily outclasses other squishy crafts on the market, but it is definitely an activity that requires adult supervision, an eye for detail, and an abundance of patience. However, parents and kids need to know that these squishies are not instant. The chemical curing process takes several hours. If your child wants to make a multi-colored or layered character, you have to wait at least an hour between pouring each color section. The liquid can get quite messy quickly, so it is highly recommended to lay down a protective table cover or baking sheet before you begin. Once fully dried, the characters pop out of the flexible silicone molds beautifully, offering a super soft, durable, and incredibly satisfying sensory play experience. Pros: - Elite Final Toy Quality: The cured taba squishies feel fantastic to stretch and squeeze, holding their shape remarkably well compared to cheaper, pre-made novelty foam toys. - Wonderful Creative Effects: Including specialty add-ins like glitter, glow-in-the-dark powder, and fuzzy flocking powder gives kids total freedom to design a truly one-of-a-kind treasure. - Great Visual Instructions: The illustrated guide is clear and easy to follow, breaking the multi-step chemistry down into simple, manageable phases for elementary students. - Excellent Mold Variety: The six distinct character shapes are trendy, adorable, and highly appealing to young crafters who love modern sensory aesthetics. Cons: - Heavy Patience Required: Because of the long drying times between layers and the total curing wait, it can frustrate younger children who are expecting immediate results. - Limited Mixing Supplies: The kit is a bit sparse on plastic mixing cups. If you want to mix multiple custom colors simultaneously, you will quickly find yourself running out of containers. - Glitter Tends to Sink: Due to the density of the liquid goop while it slowly cures, mixed-in glitter has a heavy tendency to sink straight to the bottom of the mold rather than staying suspended evenly throughout the character. - Fragile Fine Details: Some of the highly detailed molds, like the textured cookie shape, can be slightly difficult to demold and are prone to minor tearing if pulled out too aggressively. - No Storing Mixed Goop: Once the two primary goops are combined, the chemical reaction starts immediately. You cannot mix a large batch and save it in a covered cup for the next day, as it will harden completely. ... show more

  • Cool kit
Cool kit - but it would be nice to add more plastic cups so you can mix more colors in different ways. I did notice that all of the glitter sunk to the bottom while it was drying and it's VERY hard to make them look as nice as the pictures on the box. Best of luck to the next purchaser!

  • Super Fun Craft Kit That Actually Kept My Kids Busy! Super Fun Craft Kit That Actually Kept My Kids Busy!
This squishy making kit was such a fun surprise! My daughter absolutely loved mixing the colors, filling the molds, and watching the squishies come together. It felt like a really cute combination of arts & crafts and sensory play, which kept her entertained much longer than most craft kits we’ve tried. The instructions were easy enough to follow together, and I appreciated that everything was included right in the box. The finished squishies turned out okay cosmetically but great squishy, I think we used a little too much paint so it got on our hands. They’re soft, squishy, and fun for the kids to play with afterward instead of just being a one-time craft. I also liked that this kit encouraged creativity without needing screens or a huge setup. It made a perfect rainy day activity and would be such a cute birthday gift idea for kids who love crafts, slime, or squishies. A few things to note: * Adult supervision definitely needed with mixing and cleanup (kids are 5 & almost 3) * The process takes a little patience while things set * Best for kids who enjoy hands-on crafts and sensory activities Overall, really fun and unique craft kit that delivered exactly what my kids hoped for. Would definitely buy again for gifts or future activities! ... show more

  • Read the instructions carefully and be patient. Don’t use too much paint. Read the instructions carefully and be patient. Don’t use too much paint.
This is a great set that will give you great results if you read and follow the instructions! My daughter was gifted this exact same set a few months ago and we didn’t love it back then. I wanted to give it another try and I did pay more attention to the instructions this time and realized we were using too much paint and they were taking forever to set. This time we only used a tiny tiny drop and the results were excellent! They dried within 2 hours. If you plan on using the color black for details I recommend that you don’t do the entire mix beforehand, otherwise it will dry in the cup because you need to wait for the first layer to set before adding more colors. They are sticky but the fluffy stuff helps. I recommend these for children 6-8 with some adult support and ages 8+ can do it independently. It’s a fun and easy set but you can ruin it easily if you’re not careful or patient. ... show more

  • Great activity set for children! Great activity set for children!
Great squishy making kit for young girls. My daughters (7 and 9 years old) both loved making the taba squishies. It does get a little messy, so make sure you have something laid out that can contain the mess. It comes with paint and the colors are pretty and vibrant. An instruction booklet is included, which makes it easy to create these adorable little squishies. It takes a lot of patience and attention to detail to make the little squishies, so get ready for the fun! This was a great activity that let them use their creativity without any screen time involved. The set was a little smaller than I expected, but it was still fun and everything needed was in the kit! The value for this kit is worth the price point and I highly recommend this for young girls and even as a nice gift! ... show more

  • Kid was super excited, but lots of waiting and results are meh. Kid was super excited, but lots of waiting and results are meh.
This was a fun kit with some things left to be desired. They give you 5 disposable mixing cups, but it would’ve been helpful to have at least 6. I’m guessing they give 5 because there are 5 colors they give you, but the goop for 1 squishy almost fills the cup, so if you were making all 6 squishies at the same time, you wouldn’t have enough cups. We decided to just make 2 and wipe down the cups for reuse next time. We also chose to use a paper plate to mix the colored goop that we only needed a tiny amount of (like black for eyes). If you won’t make all 6 squishies at the same time, you won’t have enough popsicle sticks either, so I used toothpicks for mixing small amounts of color. A good thing about the kit is that each pair of goops includes enough extra that even with mixing different colors (which causes more waste), you still have plenty to fill the mold. After making our 2, we had enough extra leftover to make a 3rd one that didn’t fill all the way to the top. Be aware that the glitter does seem to all sink to the bottom of the mold (front of squishy). The instructions didn’t mention any wait time for doing details in different colors. It did mention a 20-40min wait time between layers if making a layered color squishy (20min for hot and humid environment, 40min for cooler and dryer). So it was only minutes between details, but we did wait 30min between bigger/deeper details, such as the white glaze on the Bundt and the pad of the paw. It was a humid day around 78 deg in the house. As shown in the photo, there still ended up being bleeding/mixing of the colors. If you end up waiting too long between colors though, the goop can start to thicken up and the project isn’t as fun because you have a lot of waiting time between. It says to wait 1-2 hrs to unmold, we waited a little over 2 hrs and it didn’t just pop out like I expected. We ended up having to use our fingers to gently pull the squishies away from the sides of the mold, then as we pushed on the mold, we used our other hand to gently pull the squishy out. After keeping out for several hours to further firm up, it is still super greasy to the point of leaving an obvious sheen on my fingers after touching them. I will definitely be using the included bags to store them in, but I don’t think it’s as fun to squish it through the thick plastic bag. It is a messy project and and I put something down to protect the table and make clean up easier. My 9yo was really excited about the project, had some frustrations during the project, but liked the results in the end. As a parent, I did not love this kit, but I gave it 3 stars because my kid did like it. ... show more
