I have always had T-fal frying pans in my collection. They last and last and are usually a good value. I feel the same about this T-fal Ingenio cookware set. First off, they are stainless steel and a nice heavy stainless steel at that. You can see and feel the quality before you even use them. When not in use, the pans simply fit inside each other with no handles jutting out taking up valuable room in the cupboard. There are three pans of varying sizes and one handle. I’m hoping to keep the handle always attached to one of the pans so it doesn’t inadvertently end up in the bottomless pit of my utensil drawer or misplaced altogether. The handle opens with the buttons located on the side and attaches by gripping the handle from underneath. It locks on to the side of the pans securely. I tried shaking the pan vigorously and it did not let go. I noticed that the handle is at such an extreme angle when attached that it makes it very awkward to hold and my hand starts to hurt even with nothing in the pan. I’m sure part of the reason it’s made this way is to keep the handle away from heat. It states in the manual you are to detach the handle when the pan is heating on the stove and only use the handle to move it or remove it from the heat. I didn’t realize this and have been cooking with the handle left on with no issues, but I have an electric stove. It may be different if you have gas and there’s a flame involved. The pans are favorable sizes, but the largest is not that large. Not a problem for me, but it could be if you’re cooking for a family. The pans themselves cook well. They heat up quickly so you have to watch your food because just turning your back for a second could be long enough for it to burn. And once hot, they stay hot. They are not non-stick so you do have to use butter, oil etc. for the foods you know are going to stick. Even so, clean up is not bad with them. Let them soak for a few minutes and it’s almost like non-stick. I love the clean shiny look of stainless; however they don’t stay that way and will discolor from high heat or from acidic or salty foods. A good cleanser made for stainless steel isn’t expensive and will keep them looking their best. ... show more
