  • My dad loves it
I purchased the Swive Shower Chair with Arms and Back for a family member who needs extra stability and support in the bathroom, and it has exceeded expectations in every way. The first thing I noticed is how sturdy and well-made it feels. With a 500-lb weight capacity, the frame is solid, heavy-duty, and doesn’t wobble or shift, even on wet shower floors. Assembly was straightforward and didn’t require any complicated tools. Once set up, the chair feels extremely secure. The adjustable height is a great feature, allowing it to fit different users and various shower stall sizes. The seat is wide and comfortable, and the textured surface helps prevent slipping. The armrests are one of the best parts—they give a strong, steady grip for sitting and standing without feeling flimsy. The backrest adds another layer of comfort and safety, especially for seniors, disabled individuals, or bariatric adults who need dependable support. Even when fully wet, the chair stays in place thanks to the rubberized feet that really grip the tub or tile. Overall, the Swive Shower Chair delivers excellent stability, comfort, and safety. It’s a reliable and well-designed option for anyone needing extra assistance in the shower, and it’s absolutely worth the investment. ... show more

  • Safe, sturdiness
This chair is my second. The other was super basic, no arms, no backing. Couldn’t use it well, felt dangerous. So I started looking for a chair that holds 500lbs. No I’m not 500lbs, but I’m not too far off. Anyway hubby assembled for me, very easy installation. I took my first shower where I actually felt safe. It’s so cool, arms go up and down, press button on seat to spin around. Has 2 clip holders on the arms for the hand shower to clip into when not using. Perfection. Except for 1 thing. Unfortunately do to my size, I cannot reach the button to rotate which is right by your crotch. I will have to get used one, but the safety is the thing for me and this fits the bill perfectly , and at a great price. Highly recommend. Excellent buy. ... show more

  • Instructions appear nice but are not written clearly
The chair arrived quickly, which was a great start. However, the instructions were pretty lacking—vague and not very helpful. Luckily, I enjoy a good puzzle and figured it out faster on my own than when I tried to follow the directions. Once assembled, the chair works really well. The swivel function is smooth and makes shower access much easier. It feels sturdy and safe, which is exactly what we needed. One thing to note: it’s slightly too tall for my mom,( is 4'10 now ) so who’s now under 5 feet . It left her legs dangling, which wasn’t very comfortable. So if you’re shorter than 5 feet, be aware—it might sit a bit high for you. Overall, a solid product with a few quirks, but nothing a little ingenuity can’t handle ... show more

  • Great shower chair for a smaller person
This chair was purchased for my 89 year old grandmother who had broken her hip. The chair has been as much help outside of the shower as it has been inside the shower. The swivel feature works great. The button is on the chair directly between your legs when you are sitting on it. No guessing and reaching to find it. The swivel automatically stops every 90 degrees. Outside the shower, it has been helpful for dressing and other self care activities. The on thing I would say is it was very challenging to put together. When they say to not tighten screws all the way, they mean it. Just barely put them in so they all fit. And you might be tempted to use a longer screw when attaching the legs to the seat in the very center. Don’t. All in all, this was a great purchase and if you have a need for a shower chair, this is a great one in my opinion. It is sturdy, not overly large and fits a smaller person better than a larger one the higher the seat is, the more opportunity you have for tipping. Overall a great purchase. ... show more

  • Game Changer for Elderly Bath Safety: Perfect for My 65 year-old Dad! Game Changer for Elderly Bath Safety: Perfect for My 65 year-old Dad!
I purchased this swivel shower chair for my 65 year-old dad and it has completely transformed his bathing experience. The standout feature for us is that he does not need to step into the tub while standing which is a huge win for safety and peace of mind. Instead, he simply sits on the chair outside the tub, then swivels in while seated, which drastically reduces the risk of slips or falls. The swivel mechanism is smooth and secure and the padded seat and backrest add an extra layer of comfort that my dad really appreciates. The side arms are widened and padded making it easier for him to support himself as he transfers in and out. Another big plus is the installation which was a breeze. Assembly took just a few minutes as everything snapped into place easily and the twist and lock knobs that come with it are intuitive and simple to use. The overall build feels incredibly sturdy and dependable. This chair has been a blessing for my family and gives both my dad and the rest of us a lot of reassurance. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable, and user-friendly shower chair for seniors or anyone with mobility concerns. ... show more

  • Very sturdy and easily operated Very sturdy and easily operated
This chair worked perfect for my 425+ lb son when he broke his leg. It fits perfectly in our standard size tub and allows him to sit sideways to enter the tub and pick his leg up over the side as he swivels it. Easy assembly and very sturdy.

  • Nice features, but SIGNIFICANTLY DANGEROUS design flaw!!!!
***UPDATE 10/19/25: The seller reached out to me and has provided not only a full refund, but solicited my opinions regarding how to increase the stability of the shower chair base from the perspective and experience of a lifetime of experience with shower chairs. Very pleased and impressed at both the refund, and the commitment to improve the safety and stability of their product. I have added a star for the concern regarsing improving their product, and in offering a personally written apology and appropriate reparations.*** This shower chair is a notably dangerous mixed bag, so let's break it down. For reference, I'm disabled due to spinal and nerve trauma in my legs, which significantly affects my stability on my best days. I use a Rollator or wheelchair to move about, depending on the day, and this shower chair on a near-daily basis, in an older (1920s) apartment with a smaller-than-average bathtub due to the age and history of the building my apartment is in. The Good: The adjustability of this shower chair is INSANE. It will drop low enough for my 4 year old grandson to use, and raise high enough for my 6'8" son to use, and adjusting it is easy enough that my grandson can adjust it on his own correctly and safely. Almost EVERYTHING about this chair is adjustable, down to the arms that can be locked down, swung up, or removed entirely, and the swivelling feature is truly a game changer for independence. I can very easily spin the seat so that I can wash, rinse, shave- even colour my hair or use deep conditioning treatments that need to sit for 10 min or more, ans my hair is VERY long and thick, falling just below my hips. The blue padding on the chair is not only more secure, even if it gets soapy, but offers a suprising degree of comfort to the chair, especially in tandem with the adjustability of the chair. I was ablw to assemble the chair entirely on my own without needing the instructions, and assembly requires ZERO tools, and took less than 15 minutes from unboxing to fully assembled and in the shower. One of the reasons thia char.caught my eye is its appearance. It does not immediately look like a medical assistive device, and given I am just past my 46th birthday, I personally appreciate that it is less obviously medical equipment. The Bad: The base of this shower chair is INCREDIBLY small given it is meant for persons with stability issues. While helpful in my undersized tub (my old chair is too wide, and it is a standard-issue shower chair used in medical settings and the average home, the base on this chair is scarily small. The chair can and does tip and fall VERY easily if one isn't EXTREMELY careful while showering- even when sitting still and simply reaching over to grab my shampoo and the like. This chair would be SIGNIFICANTLY improved (and INCREDIBLY safer) with a wider, thus more stable, base. Using this in the shower, even though it is beneficial in undersized showers/tubs like mine (this is the ONLY chair I have found that will fit in my shower space, and even the perilously small base BARELY fits in my shower), is a MAJOR fall risk- this chair has tipped over many times when I was bathing, to the point that I WILL NOT bathe if my son or daughter are not home. Shower use with this chair is risky. If you or a loved one requires a shower chair, and choose this one, it is absolutely IMPERATIVE that a caregiver be nearby for safety. We use an opaque shower curtain so I have privacy, but I WILL NOT bathe with this chair without a caregiver IN the bathroom with me. The absurdly tiny base (the base is only SLIGHTLY larger than 1ft² - a little larger than the base of the average stand lamp, and it STILL just BARELY fits in the tub/shower basin- and DESPERATELY needs to be re-engineered to add additional supports that can be extended and adjusted so the base still fits in a small shower/tub area, but will give the chair added stability that is literally the point of a shower chair- adding stability to PREVENT falls, not add them from a greater height. I've had 5 concussions, with more sets of stitches than I can remember, since using this chair. This is a SERIOUSLY hazardous (and potentially deadly, no hyperbole) oversight on durable medical equipment that is meant to INCREASE STABILITY AND MINIMISE FALL RISKS. In summary, this chair has some AMAZINGLY useful and excellent features that offer both comfort and more versatility and independence, however the stability issues are significant, and for an $80 medical chair, can't be dismissed or overlooked. I HIGHLY recommend that careful evaluation (and I mean be BRUTALLY honest with yourself about your peraonal stability needs. I have had MORE injuries in the shower WITH this chair than when I try to stand theough a whole shower, hence the precautions of always having someone in the bathroom with me for safety.) The base on this chair fitting in my absurdly small tub/shower is the ONLY reason I still use it, as I can no longer get up from the floor of the tub anymore. My son-in-law is an engineer, and is currently working on a way to add more supports to provide a wider base for my chair, thus proper stability. The fact that the company does.not give ANY data on the base of the chair means they are entirely aware that this chair is WILDLY unstable. While I really love the bells-and-whistles features of it, I cannot in good conscience really recommend this chair to ANYONE, with or without stability issues, unless a situation with an exceptionally small bathing area such as is the case with my bathroom. A shower chair is not an option for me, even with grab bars and other accomodations, and a properly sized base simply will not fit. In the end, the ENTIRE point of a shower chair is safety and stability, and this chair misses that primary function by a VERY wide margin. Frankly, I would not recommend this chair to ANYONE. I would have returned it had there been another option (and we tried a RIDICULOUS number of potential alternatives), and I sure as H*LL would not have paid $70 for a chair that has cost me an exponentially larger sum in medical costs due to this chair falling and tipping. Again, the FEATURES are nice- but not a single one, nor all in total, make this chair worth the incredibly increased risk of the wildly insufficient base. *Note- I have contacted the company that makes this chair, as have my doctors, MULTIPLE times by every means available. They have not responded in any way to anyone. ... show more
