  • UPDATE! - impressed with original quality
OK, so it is 4 moths later (original review below) and we have now constructed the swing set. This is one very sturdy and well-designed kit! You will NOT regret buying this set! Let me update you. The pieces go together very well. They are well-marked. It will take two people who know what they are doing and can use drills, sockets, drivers, clamps and other wood-working tools, about 16 total hours to construct -- 32 total man-hours. You will need to at least, generally, level the ground where the set will be set up. Directions are helpful for locating the set and providing clearance. This does take up a lot of space. You will need an area that is about 12-feet by 20-feet overall, all of which should be pretty level. If you start with a fairly level, rock-free space, it takes about an hour to level the ground simply using a 4-foot carpenter's level, small digging tools and a chalk line. Make sure you follow the instructions in order to avoid tricky assembly challenges. Also, check the updates as the parts list did not exactly reflect what the instructions showed, but they had sent an update that reflected the changes that we would have to make. Not a big deal. The beams are very sturdy and do NOT need any reinforcement, so you will have all the parts to do this job completely. I would separate all of the screws and bolts into small baggies or small bins and mark them with exactly what they are. There are numerous different parts and they will eventually get confusing unless you start by separating the parts. Having a few extra, exterior deck-type, 1.5" screws would not hurt! The cedar wood is VERY dry, therefore it is easy to splinter and/or get slivers in construction so use gloves when possible and have a good tweezer handy, just in case (I got two pretty good slivers). Use wood clamps to held pieces exactly in the right places before drilling. We had at least two twisted pieces that had to be clamped tightly before drilling to get them in the right place. Other pieces should be clamped for alignment because there are a lot of things that have to line up! Not using clamps could set you up for some frustrations when things don't line up or do not seem level!! When you get this assembled, I would most certainly give this two soaking coats of Olympic or Thompson's water sealer to protect the set from the sun and excessive moisture. You could use a garden sprayer or a paint roller. Cedar will not "rot" like landscape beams, but it probably can get moldy. Then I would spray it again every spring. This will only take about 30 minutes, but should be well-worth the effort. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We just got this for our grand-daughter, and have not constructed it yet because of the weather. However I have taken apart the boxes and my initial reaction to the quality is very good. I was thinking I might need an architectural aluminum channel bar across the top to make sure the weight limits will work with kids being kids, but I really don't think it will be necessary. The key to a long and useful life may be using a good moisture and mold prevention product as we assemble it and periodically applying it. ... show more

  • A solid purchase
For starters, since I’ve bought it the price has gone up about 35%, maybe it is seasonal. Something to be wary of. It came in one pallet of assorted, labeled boxes. All wood pieces were easily labeled. Once I unpacked it and organized it to the layout in the instructions it was easy to find what I needed. The screws aren’t labeled, you have to use pictures, which isn’t hard, but the screw lengths aren’t precise. A 2 1/2in screw won’t measure 2 1/2in. Just something to be careful of when assembling. Assembly instructions were clear but there were a couple of steps, maybe 5ish out of 50 or so that weren’t the best way of doing something. For example, on the slide instructions, it says to drive the stake into the ground and screw it in to one side of the bottom of the slide. The pamphlet that came with the slide instructed you to attach the bottom of the slide to the stake in the center. Most of the wood had prescribed screw holes, which is fantastic, but some steps didn’t and you definitely need to in this wood or it will be more prone to split. It is worth noting the instruction specified locations to attach pieces of wood to each other and rarely did the predrilled holes match those measurements. I took a gamble and used the predrilled holes and everything lined up well. I assembled it alone and it took me probably two 8 hour days. I wasn’t in a rush and was very meticulous with my angles and measurements so I probably could’ve finished it a few hours quicker had I rushed. It is cedar, and it stained. However, a coat of sealant after assembly would extend the life of it if you’re looking to keep it for the long term. It does not come sealed. Just a heads up, it does require some minor digging for the slide supports and of course the stake. Overall, not that it is assembled it is a great play set that came as advertised. It came with everything needed, plus a couple extra pieces of wood and screws. My only complaint is the flimsiness of the slide but it’s plenty sturdy enough for a small school age child under say 75lbs. ... show more

  • Grandchildren‘s favorite
It took a bit to put it together, but once it is my grandchildren, love it.

  • Satisfactory product
This play set is average to good in quality in my opinion. It took a LOT of work to get it put together. About 20 man hours. Construction of it was led by my nephew who has a lot of building and construction experience or it may have taken much longer.. I think the product would be better if some of the materials were pre-assembled into pre-fab type panels instead of each and every piece of wood having to be arduously screwed together. The pieces of wood were well labeled; however, it would have been helpful to label screw packages with what pieces of wood they went with. All in all, I think my grand daughters will enjoy it. ... show more

  • Excellent Playground
We bought this play set for our kids this Spring Break and we LOVE it. The lead time was like 2 or 3 weeks, and it only showed up a day early. It shipped from Texas and sat for days in Georgia then Alabama, so I imagine they have to arrange for transport. It showed up in a large box truck loaded on a large pallet in one box. Once you open the box, there are smaller boxes for subassemblies. The packaging and instructions are TOP NOTCH. Seriously. I was very impressed with how they packed it, give you Bills of Material, and label everything. All of the screw holes lined up exactly, so they have good tolerances. My biggest worry about this thing was getting level ground. We live on a giant hill made of rocks and don't have anywhere truly flat. The rocky "soil" makes drilling or digging out of the question. It took my and my 14 year old daughter only 2.5 days of building, so its not too bad. I was able to use a carpenter square to make sure everything was square and the spot we put it in was 3" too low in the front of the playground so we ended up using large stones under the front to make it "level". You could probably use RV leveling blocks if you needed to. My 6 kids have been playing on it a few weeks now and it feels solid. I plan on putting a coat of some kind of weather protector to make it last long longer. The slide calls for you to drill 12" deep holes for the slide support legs. NOPE. So I had to cut the bottom of the slide support legs and so far, my 6 kids crotch goblins haven't destroyed it so even in a less than ideal configuration, the slide slides. ... show more

  • Worth every penny. Very sturdy and great swingset!
I did ALOT of review reading and research on multiple websites/retailers. And after 2 weeks decided to take a leap of faith on this swing set for my 5&6 yr old. I am not disappointed with our purchase! We received it 5 days after ordering it! It came a day earlier then we were told (which I’m sure is on the carriers end but still). We decided to stain it to give it extra protection since my kids will have lots of years left to play on it. But the quality of the wood is great. It took my husband and a family friend about 7 hours with a few small breaks in between. The instructions were fairly easy to understand. A few times it would have been helpful to have the instructions in writing instead of just a diagram but not a huge deal. One of the small green handles came broken but to me that’s not a huge deal and I will be contacting the company for a replacement. But all hardware was there we even have extras. ... show more

  • Warning, not safe with NO customer service
I purchased this swingset in April 2025. In March of 2026, I noticed boards were splitting all around this set. I contacted the company and they said they would replace the boards since it had a one year warranty. We also noticed the bolt that holds one of the main support boards of the swingset had also come out. On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, my grandkids were playing on it and sliding down the slide when all 3 screws ripped out of the wood and fell off the platform causing them to fall! The wood is so soft the screws were working their way out. I would not recommend this swingset at all. It is unsafe for anyone to play on. Very soft, thin boards are used. ... show more

  • Large seam in slide
Playground seems to be good quality other than the slide - there is a seam large enough to fit my adult finger in and I worry about the kids getting their fingers or clothing caught going down. If you look closely at the picture you can literally see the ground through the seam. I am going to caulk it which hopefully will solve the issue (but probably look pretty bad). As noted in just about every review, assembly is pretty intense/time consuming. My husband and his dad put it together - it took a full day and both of them have done construction for 20+ years. ... show more
