Although unit is pricy it works beyond what I hoped for . I was not sure it was working although it was running . Followed setup instructions , but temp was not changing. One needs to know it is a 4500 gal .pool that was just filled from a hose. Water was about 58deg. Now air temp and sun was helping. It was Mid April in Ill. To make a long story short , this heater slowly brought temp to 86DEG. in 3 days going 24HR. a day. and did not change until it shut down when the air temp reached into the Nineties. I just whish it could cool water also! Easy to install, and Quiet operation. If nights are cool use a solar cover at night, works very well.

We have the "Intex 86" x 23" Rectangular Frame Above Ground Outdoor Home Backyard Splash Swimming Pool with Flow Control Valve for Draining" with an Intex filter, solar cover, AND an Intex cover. The pool sits in the sun during the summer is Denver CO and never got above 74F. Wasn't sure this heater would work but it does. 80 degrees is no problem for it and we kicked it up to 85 and wow, game changer for the kids. Doesn't operate loudly...compact. Great product

Using it now for 2 weeks, bought unit for 16'x48" intex pool, install was simple just make sure you have correct hose size and hose size adapters to make it work. Unit runs well, auto shuts off when pump is off. It does make the water warmer and keeps pool around 80 degrees. Price seems high for the what you get, but as long as it holds up for multiple seasons, hoping it'll be worth it.

Heated up my 3600 gallon pool from 58° to 78° in two days .... My kids love this ... Is pretty quiet while running no complaints there easy instal with a quick trip to local hardware store for correct fitting hose....

I never saw anyone who makes a heating device to accurately describe the performance. They create "perfect" conditions which are not reality. That said, I have a Bestway 10x20 oval pool with 3500ish gallons near the Canadian border in Idaho. Last year,, the included solar heater really only gave us three weeks or so of perfect grandkid temperature. In "Tim the Toolman Taylor" mode, I opted for this larger unit. The weekend before memorial day, the pool went up and filled from our well. I can't recall the exact temperature, but this heater gave me about 10 degree temperature rise a day. Set the filter pump to recirculate and let her run 24/7. You will get condensate off the unit which is normal. Memorial weekend had the grandkids in the pool about seven hours a day. You absolutely need to make sure a high quality pool cover is used to help heat more quickly and retain heat. Electrical: Our local code allows for removable plugs for portable use, so that's what I configured. Remember 240V 20 amp service. I did reroute the filter cord to get it clear of the walkway vs. what's in the photo (first day of use). Portability: I mounted the heater on a standard furniture dolly and will just roll it into the basement when the season is over. Packaging: The heater arrived in an exceptionally well built plywood box with a printed sign that says to save the box for possible return. It isn't the easiest to open as you need to take side panels off so a couple of people can lift it out. Nits: There is a hairline crack in the pressure guage upon arrival. There is an extension line for the control unit that the instructions doesn't talk about, but you can mount the control on an elevated surface. Bottom line: So far, so good. Patience and planning are key.

Finally broke down and got this pool heater. It took several days to go from 61 to 88. But we did not run it constantly. We got a solar blanket to put on the pool at night and during the day when it is not in use. Our pool is constantly in the 82 to 85 range and once we goth the solar blanket we did not need to run it over night. It will warm slowly but that is intentional. Don’t want to burn out the mother or burn people with hot water. It will give an error code if your filter is not keeping the water at a good pressure. Just make sure the filter pump is working right and it will clear the error. I love that it will turn on and off as needed to maintain the temp you set it to. I hope it lasts for years to come. First time I was willing to get in with the kids. We will see how long it works. I wanted to upgrade our pump next, unfortunately I did not realize that the max flow is 2000gph. And most pumps that are for a pool our size are 2500gph. This is something I learned about after the purchase. It is not the products fault, just wish I could upgrade.
