I started setting this up. Here are things you need to know: It is 1.5 inches tubing centric. Your normal Intex pump will be fine but if you have a bigger one especially sand filter pump realize that you 2 inch r inlet and outlet hoses will need adapters. Easily gotten from Amazon. Directions are useless. Typical “Chenish” where someone has tried to translate from Mandarin to English. I wrote to tech support. They quickly responded. After you have the plumbing done. Plug it in and hold the power buuton until it shows a temperature. Now you can hold the arrow button up to set the desired water temp. DONE! The good news. When I set it up the temp of the water was 75. Three days later as it is how 85! You must have a solar cover . I know I know they are a pain to take on and off but they in combo with the pump. NEW IMPORTANT INFO: The heat pump does not have an automatic shut off. So if your pump is on a time and turns off the EU30 does nothing but keep running. It will burn up its coil. So you must pay attention to pump timing or run them both continuously.

Runs perfect right out of the box! I recommended this to my friend. Great product and seller! The picture just shows the living pond luscious, and green well into November. The heater gave us an extra couple months. I gave the plants the chance to finish.

Warning: This requires an extra hose to connect your pool pump to the heater, and will most likely (depending on the size of your existing pool hoses and connectors) require connectors. This is not stated anywhere in the listing - the photos imply that the hosing is included (although the listing doesn’t actually state that), but it is NOT included. So, buyer beware - you will need to get more stuff to get this to work. To make matters worse, the instruction manual doesn’t even list the specs for the necessary hose/connectors, so you’re on your own to figure it out. That’s just unacceptable for an item that costs $500 with tax. I may amend this review once I manage to get the heater up and running but right now I’m quite livid since all I have is a bulky, pricey appliance that I can’t actually use.

Great heater! However, Im ordering a larger one to heat my 1,000 gallon pool, to extend the season a bit longer in WI. Was able to get it up to around 95 in 65-70 degree weather.
