My unit stopped working after only six months, and I have spent the past two months sending screenshots, photos, and proof that the cameras I have are compatible and that the unit is not functioning. On May 28th, I was told that my replacement unit would arrive within 7–14 business days. On June 28th, they requested more clarification about the cameras I have. It is now July, and I still do not have a replacement. I also purchased the extended warranty through Amazon, but I cannot use it until the manufacturer’s warranty period ends, leaving me with a non-working unit and no solution. I installed myself which was easy . Test cameras before installing . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Comes with everything you need to install . Also the app is nice but not needed .

    • Beware of out-of-box settings!!! PIR sensor + motion detect eliminates most false triggers.

I had purchased a different system and was flooded with false detections. The Swann combined PIR and motion detect system is much much better. However the Swann system turns out to be 4x more expensive. Very important: The cameras have an option for selecting which part of the field of view takes part in motion detection. Be very wary of the way the cameras are sets up out right out of the box; I was convinced that the motion detection of two of my cameras was not working, but it turned out that one of these cameras came as default with the entire field of view selected as NOT to respond to motion. Two other cameras had the entire field of view selected in order to respond to motion. Nevertheless, one out of four cameras didn't work correctly no matter what I tried and I had to send it back. ... show more

I haven’t fine tuned it yet, but so far it’s working out great and the picture quality is sharp. It was a bit of a PITA to run the wires, but I am a perfectionist so I made sure that none of my wires are visible. All in all, I would recommend this brand/kit.

For analog coax connection the cameras work well. My complaint is I can't seem to attach a keyboard to it. I have to use my mouse to enter everything and it asks for your password repeatedly even when you've logged in. Every time I want to change settings, view old captured video, or anything else I'm always asked for P/W. If there is another way to do i haven't found it. If P/W screen is up your phone app is useless. It prevents you from viewing video. Problem is, P/W screen seems to pop up randomly. Other than that a good bargain CCTV system. ... show more

    • cheap and faulty cameras
This is not a very user friendly system. We had to watch a lot of videos to try to understand what to do and it still didn't make sense or work. Then the cameras started to break down. The first 2 that were mounted did fine for a week then the spotlight and enforcer lights started flashing for no reason. Then the spotlight went dim. We tried all the troubleshooting methods and nothing worked. Tech support answered right away when I first reported it. They wanted videos showing the problem. I sent them but wasn't sure why, the cameras didn't work right and we just wanted them replaced. Didn't hear back from them for a week and couldn't reach anyone on the phone. When the spotlight went out on a 3rd camera we said forget it and returned the whole thing before time ran out and we wouldn't be able to return it.
