I can't say I fell in love with the look of this floor lamp when considering it but I was sold by the reviews commenting on its brightness. While I wasn't looking for bells and whistles, I have to admit I really like being able to not only control the brightness but also the color of the light (during the day I like a whiter light but during the evening and night, I prefer a warmer tone). I never thought about having a remote for a lamp but it's nice being able to adjust the color and dimness without getting up. I needed two floor lamp. I got this one and another one that apparently had brighter due to higher lumen and the price was $79. But it was not bright at all and I returned it. But this one is very bright. I love it.
