Overall the scanner does exactly what you'd expect it to do at this price point. No more. No less. It's not the most accurate or easy to read device, but it gets the job done and has detected all sorts of different types of metals with no issues.

This metal detector is worth buying. It comes with not only the metal detector itself, but also two 9v batteries, headphones, a metal military shovel and a bag that can hold everything. I assembled it today when I had time. I walked around my yard and found the screws of my long-lost camera stand in the cracks of the rocks. This machine is very sensitive and easy to use, Remember to lower the sensitivity if you don't want to find too many small nails. I am looking forward to treasure hunting at the beach when I have time.

So far this thing is a lot of fun and a good reason to go on a walk . I found a battery and a quarter.. after I read the instructions I decided to not listen to them and just use pinpoint mode it's a great tool the carrying bag is convenient while it sits in the trunk of my car. So this is pretty disappointing. I ordered this just so we could casually play with it in our yard and at the beach. The first one I received didn’t work. I tried everything to get it to work. So did my neighbor and my husband. It did nothing more than flash a light when it was turned on on the handle and then have the Santa with snow falling screen. It didn’t matter how slowly I went over metal. It didn’t matter how close or far I was from it. I tried it upside down. I tried it parallel as suggested. Nothing got it to beep. I tried several different kinds of metal. Nothing. I returned the first one. The second one was no better and was a pain to put together for some reason on top of it. This metal detector is worthless.
