The build quality is pretty solid I've had to carry this along the beach dropping it a few times but it works fine. Easy to use once you get use to the controls the screen makes it easier. The adjustable length is nice for when my girlfriend wants to use it. I've also found a lot of cool items I woudlve just walked over at the beach. Nice as a hobby to do when you have time. I used this metal detector underwater. And we needed up finding some real gold! It wasn't much, but the nugget was visible after many tests. I had also found some other metallic ores in a nearby stream, looking like tin, or iron, maybe even magnesium, and gold. The fact that it can go underwater, and is so easy to use and small is why I gave it 5 stars. NO metal detector on this planet should NOT be able to go underwater! Its so small, no-one can see you are collecting metals. And if you drop it in the water, you can simply pick it up and go about. It beeps faster the closer you get to the metal which is also a great design! The range is terrible however. If you are fortunate enough to get 1 inch or range thats probably all you will need anyway, but still not good. Maybe I have a defective unit I'm not sure, but 4" is a very very big stretch for this thing. Personally, I was hesitant to return it because I have had nothing but issues with it since I first opened it. But I say for now it does work, like all metal detectors. Its a 5 star product and the waterproofing is great too.

I like that this pin pointer has vibrating and sound modes. At first it worked great but over time it has become frustrating. It will erratically explode with noise and vibration when there is nothing in its field. It’s not near the detector, shovel or any type of metal and it will not stop. I shut it off and turn it back on and it works fine. But it has gotten to the point where it’s more bother than it’s worth. I will not buy again. 4-17-24 i bought several much more expensive pin pointers to replace this one and I like them both very much. That being said, this one does detect at quite a distance and is very sensitive, even more so than the G that I have. So even though it has some issues, I still think it’s a really good pin pointer for the money.

I have only had this pin pointer about a month. I have used it a handful of times. So far works great and is accurate. Have not tried it in water yet but looks waterproof.

I bought this SUNPOW metal detector as a birthday gift for my nephew, and he absolutely loves it! The detector is very intuitive, easy to use, and fully functional. The display provides clear information, and my nephew quickly learned how to operate it. He’s already found a few small metal objects in our backyard, and he’s so excited! This is a great exploration toy that not only encourages outdoor activities but also fosters curiosity and hands-on skills. Highly recommended!!

I use a lot of reclaimed wood for projects and got this to ensure there is no metals pieces left in the wood before running them through my planer and ruining my blades. It works great and has saved me from having to replace blades when I thought I got everything out. It will also find the metal rebar in your garage floor while trying to scan boards so make sure not to lay them on your concrete floor.

My Honest review. Functioned as it should out of the box. This pointer works awesome, well built, easy to operate and detects objects in-and-around within 2" easily with authority . Many people complained about the difficulty of putting the battery in the pointer. Place the battery in the compartment first, then attach the connector. Reverse for removal to make this easy without breaking or stressing the wires. My pointer worked great the first day of detecting (5 digs) but then started to Beep randomly when not around any metal. (Brand new Duracell battery). It can be powered off and on to fix this issue, however after a few times of digging, it would do it again leading to possible faulty signals while in the hole. I returned for a replacement in kind, as I possibly have a defective item, but it seems to be consistent issue. The beep can be a little louder, but its loud enough for most work. Both vibe and beep function gives best of both worlds. I am hoping I had a defective item and the replacement will not have the reoccurring beeping issue as this pointer would meet the QDR (Quality/Dependability/Reliability) we all need in a budget friendly pointer. I intend to give a follow up review after receiving the replacement item.
